This makes so much sense. I just started using the fade up and down combo before I saw this video. I got everything blended well but taking that first line out I haven't perfected. But now I'm at a shop where we have to do 4 haircuts in an hour. Hopefully this speeds it up for me. So I can focus on the first line or at least not need so much time to blend it as much. 😊
I do a combination first I set in my bald line and then start fading down until I feel like fading up will sufficed, Great video brother

I prefer the combination. I like to fade from the bottom up half way and from the top down halfway and meet in the middle.
Word! I generally do the same thing too. I typically handle the no guard first then fade down to it
I do the opposite. Cut the top first, then fade down to #1, then set the bald line and fade up into that #1. I also have good results cutting the top first and going straight to #1.5 to remove all bulk, then fade up from there into the top, then go back down and set in my bald line and fade up into the 1.5

I'm still new, tried fading down and I got all messed up lol.. I'm most comfortable fading up setting guidelines then fading down in that section, then moving up to the next guideline

I’ve always faded up but I’m starting to fade down now and the haircuts look is way better plus is helps keeping the guide where it was set doesn’t bring up the fade

I still use guides. I just personally feel like it works for me. But I understand and see the other methods you talk about daily. Deffo are advantages to the other fading system 💯🤝🏽💯👊🏽

How do you get rid of a bald line ?
Multiple ways. Difficult for me to type it out. But I typically use a fade blade combined with a trimmer to rub that out. I got a bunch of videos detailing that, along with the barber's system.
