  • John Tudor: "My times here in St. Louis were the best of my baseball life. It's hard to explain to players and other organizations why this is a special place to play. ... I'm really grateful to have been one of the lucky ones to experience it firsthand."

What a personalty John Tudor has. This kind of mental awareness won 20 out of 21 games I'm sure.

One of the two best Cardinal left handed pitchers in my memory. The other was Steve Carlton.

Well deserved. Don’t know much about him, and I’ve never seen his highlights, and he doesn’t get talked about much, but still well deserved I guess.

Hi best year was 1985. He started out 1-7 but then he fixed a flaw in his delivery. After that he won 20 of the next 21 games. And had 13 complete games. 10 of those were shutouts.
His ERA that year was 1.93.

62-26 for a .705 win%. 2.52 ERA over 5 years with the Cardinals. Not a long Cardinal career but he was their ace on some pretty exciting teams. The Cardinals got him for an aging George Hendrick, then traded him for Pedro Guerrero.
