I can relate. It's almost June and i can't understand how the hawks are still so relentless. I have had an even harder time with it this year than i did last year. Now i push my birds out hungry and flag them up to fly right away so that they don't hang around. But to get to this point there several attacks and many lost and eaten birds, unreal. My birds are so frightened to get out that i have to push them out. Regarding OB'S racing it's a learning curve and also takes a couple of years to assemble the right team, so enjoy the racing and the thrill and the experience, I'm in the same boat as you.
Wow! That's crazy to have that many BOP in one area, like that. Good deal about the batting cage working.. I'm sure it did or like you said, many more would have just taken off to never return.
Good job for that white bird! You know I'm biased towards white racers. I've never seen group attacks from hawks. I'm having a quiet period with hawks, knock on wood! Good luck with your YB training!
Ive never seen hawks in a flock. You might have a breeding pair of Coopers or Goshawks in th area...basically the main 2 species, other then the Peregrine, that attack pigeons. Great you clocked this week, youll do better when you get your young birds trained out.
