I've looked at the middle and even had my boat flow down the middle during summer when I swam on the upper. It doesn't even look passable. From memory the guide book suggests it's a grade 6 which can be ran sometimes. I'm guessing what I'm trying to say is this isn't to be messed with, it is really a river for those who know how to handle the roughest white water. Impressive to see you guys run it.
The videos are perfect except that they are way too short. I love how you explain how gnarly it is the you both run it in half slices, and make it look so easy, like a stroll in the park. Where do we find all the other projects you guys are working on. Hoping to see more.
Cheers mate! Honestly with the time we have put in with the half slices I feel happy on almost any river in my Ripper. Filming my own stuff alongside this film project I am involved with right now, hope to have a video about it when filming wraps in week or two.
Cheers mate, fortunately not I (Bren) got caught out in one hole but managed to surf out and Adrian at lower flows had a bit of a tangle with the tree you see on the long drone shot but happilly no dramas. I heard about a couple of incidents with other crews though, thankfully it all worked out well for them.
The Oetz is a classic river. I've never paddled it this high though. You have to be on your game and in the Zone. Respect!
