@@staLkerhu I would said if you maintain properly you don’t have issues. I mean drive under 3000 RPM for first 10-15 minutes. Do major service every 8000/9000 miles. Avoid E10 fuel, use injection cleaner three times a year. I recommend also to use TEC2000 engine flush every second service and every third service use LM Ceratec. After 100K miles it would be good to check condition of chain and tensioners. This schedule works for me.
@@pj-vb5rk my avg is 29/30mpg. However I mainly use E5 petrol, E10 drops you that figure by 5-10 percent. I would said up to 75mph you can get economical driving, above it is getting expensive. Especially from 80-120mph. This engine also don’t like high revs for first 10 minutes of driving (I mean above 3000 RPM). Otherwise, great engine, just need to be maintained properly. 1.6 should be good for first car, however 2.0 is the engine that you want. T5 facelift is almost impossible to buy in UK. Good luck!👌🏻
Still have 2012 R-Design 2.0 Petrol. Absolutely love it!
No issues with that "legendary" Mazda L engine?

Have you driven any of the 1.6 engines on the volvo c30? Also what do you think about the speed/fuel economy for 2.0 petrol?
