Great episode. I’ve been around Filipino culture for most of my life and I remember seeing tampo growing up. It definitely does not work in the United States, but it is for sure a cultural thing in the Philippines. Can take some getting used to if in a relationship with a Filipina.
It is a learned behavior among some Filipinas but can be overcome with the support of a mature, loving, and communicative partner. By fostering open communication and understanding, such a relationship can build a strong foundation for lasting love. Don't give up on the Filipina women you care about.💕
Don't reward Tampo. I get her being silent so that she say something in anger. But she can clearly write or text without anger. So if Tampo lasts longer than 5 minutes, tell her you are going for a walk on the beach, might go snorkeling and may have dinner with a friend. Tell her you won't your phone when snorkeling. That will drive her crazy. No Filipina wants her man to be out without her. She will either break Tampo or break up with you. Either way is a win.
Never go to bed angry at your partner. They may not live to see another day. They would then feel bad for that Tampo. Was it really worth it? How does it feel that now your partner is gone forever and you can't make up or apologize fixing the situation? Now you have to live with knowing you were angry and ignored your partner over something that wasn't even really serious plus your partner and the love they had for you is gone. You have to live with knowing you should have handled things differently and been more mature communicating with your partner so they could work on the issue. 💯

Re "tampo".... let me be very clear, right at the beginning. If we are in a relationship, and she decides that she'll have tampo for a full day, the following day we will not be in a relationship. I do not have time to entertain such adolescent behavior.

Right. Why reward bad behavior.
If my partner choose the "full day tampo" as told, my choice would be easy. Next morning I would not be there.

I will deal will tampo in the beginning of my talk with a girl. I will not allow that in my marriage. Its childish.
