Yes, please do more of these videos with old PC games - they used to come with such amazing bonus materials, as I'm sure you know having worked at Sierra. Man those were great times - the cross-over period from analog to digital games. This edition of Diablo 2 was probably one of the last to really go "all out" in that old style. Really cool to see it, thanks!
I loved the manual. Each character class had its own mythology and each skill had a description of how the character uses it in battle. Diablo (1&2) is also my favourite fantasy franchise because its dark, eerie and has a sense of realism to it.
Just saw the short you released about this collection and needed to search up the full video. I was amazed at how long ago this was released and the condition your copy is still in after your move, and the years passed. I've been watching your channel since just before you discovered the foundation leak in your old game room. Keep up the good work! 🤘🤘
Metaljesus u rock! Finally subscribed after years of watching. Spent way to many hours playing Diablo but never regretted it! Keep up good work and Opeth rules!!
I'm not a PC gamer but i just love all the extras they throw into some of these PC games and all the work they put into them. It is pretty amazing. I remember watching an older video of yours when you were showing a PC game with these cloth maps. Those were just too cool. I love these videos.
I've actually never played Diablo, but that's a damn nice collectors edition. Soundtrack cd, DVD with a fair amount of bonus features, it's own edition D&D, an autographed manual...lots of good stuff for the fans. I love it when the makers of a game really put a lot of effort into their special edition packages.
Diablo 2 was the VERY FIRST collector's edition I ever got. Unfortunately I lost some of my materials but I still have most of it. I love that it came with the D&D game.
Really fun to see what's inside a decade old collector's edition game which I really liked. Although this video a bit short it's a great idea to review more old PC game's, really nice!
My local pawn shop has had this on the shelf for the past year for $15. I had no idea it was collectible and Ive got a copy of the regular edition so I never payed any attention to it. Ill be picking it up tomorrow I cant wait.
Excellent video, Jason! Please do some more unboxings in the future- it's great seeing all these classics and what they came with back when they were released! Rock on! (:
Dude I seriously count the days during the work week to come home on a Friday and watch your new videos! Keep making great kick ass videos! LOOOVE DIABLO 2! Have you tried "DiscWorld"?
Diablo and Diablo II where one of my favourite PC games. I have the big box version of Diablo II. I hope Diablo III ends up being a decent followup. Fantastic pickup and great video.
I still play D2: LoD even having D3 SE...but I've never seen that collector's edition of D2 before, its...gorgeous, I'd buy that any day. Great content too; that D&D edition's excellent, what a cool idea.
@MetalJesusRocks Was that just before the Activision buy out ? I never played the Diablo PC games. However it was cool to see this since I have been an old school D & D player from back when.
Diablo 2 + The expansion pack is one of my favorites games of the early 2000. I still have my old 3 game discs and the expansion disc in tact and in a working condition. My favorite Classes are Necromancer and Barbarian. Have you played or heard of something called Dungeons of Dredmor?
I remember that they had like a big boxed trial disc for diablo (don't remember if it was the first or the 2nd one). I do remember buying it and I do remember loving it. But these days I'm more of a Mac person and I want to keep gaming and working seperated on my machines ;) You say you have more PC games from the 90s? Wing Comander? Privateer 2? Crusader: No Remorse/No Regret? And I'm sooooooooo sure you have "a couple" of those Sierra adventures around. Show us your Larry Laffer collection ;)
Super jealous of that, rad as fuck for sure. Guess you can say I made my own version of it though, I have the battle chest version of D2 and just found a standalone D2/D&D game guide/DM book. Really looking forward to running a tabletop game with it. I haven't looked into it yet online but I'm guessing the book I found was released after the box set, containing all the rule books in that set in one book.
Depends on what way you mean dumbed down. I guess I'll start pre-emptively by arguing against the typical reason, the difficulty of raids. Raids in Cata were not much harder or much easier than any of the raids before. Same seems true with MoP. Other than that, not sure what you could mean by dumbed down.
You worked with Sierra?? You sir are a god in my book then! I love all the old school pc games, and still play them. You don't know where I can find a beasty -for the day- windows 95 pc do you?
But you'll play a game without the devil's name in it? Would you play Grand Theft Auto where you can mow down innocent by standers and steal their cars?
Back in the day when special editions actually included "goodies." Those days are gone I'm afraid. A current game wouldn't come with a pen and paper RPG....I wish they did though:)
I never tried Diablo but I tried to download Diablo 3 but it wouldent work my videocard can't hold it so I decided to try out Diablo 2, it wasent avalable for the starter descion so I bought it, it was really really fun so I drove to my friends house who has the new macbook so it could hold it, I played it ALL day long it was so fun I love Diablo 3 and 2 and hoping I can find Diablo 1
The same people working on WoW (the main designers) have been with the game since day 1. Some have left though (saying they were fired is speculation), as is the case with any company. As for it being easier, it's not necessarily true. For example WoTLK's end boss was harder than anything in pre-expansion WoW or TBC. It's been a sub based game since day 1 too so that's irrelevant since it's the only game with a sub fee they have. Not sure why you wrote "make them pay every month".
wow that is so cool! this is the first time i've seen or heard of this. diablo ii a box of cheez-it and some pepsi in a dark room! those were the days! i still cant figure out why my girlfriend broke up with me though. i would spend at least an hour or two a day with her. maybe she really didnt like cheez-it and pepsi breath.
I lost 90 percent of my collectors edition after moving 6 times. I do still have the DVD cinematic disk and soundtrack though. I think the Manual is floating around also. :P

What do I think?
I'm fucking jealous that's what I think.
When I saw the D&D stuff my heart sunk into my chest and I had a major Nerdgasm
Looking to buy one of these with the signed game manual

@stojrum - A lot of people like the Torchlight games on the X360. You should download the demo and give it a shot!

Just found this set at an antique mall for $10 :)
I use mostly clear thumb tacks, so you don't see them.

@WarriorRazor - I played the demo for Torchlight and enjoyed it, but never got the full game. I should do that next time there is a sale on XBLA.
Metealjesusrocks did you get this set when it cane out
Blizzard always do a great job with presentation both of the packaging and the actual in-game.
@GeForce440gt - at the time, Sierra was working with Blizzard.... so I got it there.
Diablo and Diablo II where one of my favourite PC games.

Can you download or watch the behind the scenes / DVD version cinematic online anywhere?
@MetalJesusRocks Was that just before the Activision buy out ? I never played the Diablo PC games. However it was cool to see this since I have been an old school D & D player from back when.
How much do you think a brand new copy of D2 Collector's Edition would go for?
Your gamer videos are the best. And I'm not even sure why!
Blizzard has been making fantastic collector's editions for a long time now. Good looking CE you got there!
What a great set for collectors. Neat! Thats nice you had everything in such good condition to show.
Awwww I've been looking to get this forever...That soundtrack is absolutely amazing.
how do you put your action figures in the walls? i dont want to use nails, so what do you use?
I must say MJ, I'm truly envious of this collection.
Is the movie just all of the cutscenes or is it something else?
!!!
The soundtrack! That alone is absolutely awesome!

I love Diablo 2 music soundtrack.
The soundtrack and DVD are pure gold, I'd pay millions for em, shame I'm broke.

Diablo II was amazing,. So many hours I put into that game . Sad Blizzard has gone so far down hill.
but does it come with the expansion
Of course not. This was released way bafore LOD
There are so many books and manuals. I love it! I am really disappointed in today's games, which come with 2-page manuals... there's nothing to read!
