Anytime you can educate the customer on the realities of vinyl top replacements , it's a true win. I personal love vinyl tops on all vehicles, even muscle cars because they add a touch of class over the standard painted roof. I also grew up on the 1970's and 1980's In Connecticut when vinyl tops were all the rage.
Howvfar are you from Warwick RI I have a 72 nova all original the top is iin great shape along with the trim will need a sand and prime or whatever you need to do to install the top
Not really what the video is about, but I was just wondering why half the cars on the road when I was a kid had vinyl tops, then they just vanished. No one talks about them; no one remembers. In fact, there's nothing on RUclips about the history. Strikes me as very odd. I am not saying I want a vinyl top, but they still look pretty snappy.
I have a 69 Camaro with vinyl top. My top extends down the A pillar as shown on this Firebird. Most of the Camaro examples I see do not cover the A pillar. Why is that? Were they produced both ways? I bought mine in 1980, so pretty sure the top is original.
