Britain's only native martial arts? That's a big statement to make there knowing 1000s of years of war and self defense

It isn't Britain's only native martial art, that's just bull. Britain has several styles of wrestling, as well as various bare knuckle boxing and weapon combat styles unique to this country. It is a big statement to make and one not rooted in accuracy.

There used to be this one sport they used to play. It was boxing except there was 1 man and 1 dog vs 1 man and 1 dog.

The grappling aspect of it is basically borrowed from Japanese Jujitsu. The name Bartitsu says it all.

.....The term "baritsu" did not exist outside the pages of the English editions of and a 1901 report titled "Japanese Wrestling at the Tivoli", which covered a Bartitsu demonstration in London but misspelled the name as . It is likely that Conan Doyle used the 1901 London article as source material, copying the "baritsu" misspelling verbatim, particularly in that he had Holmes define "baritsu" as "Japanese wrestling", which was the same phrase used in the newspaper headline.

You could even add Viking Glima wrestling too as it was practised on British shores!

England's only martial art?!? What about centuries of Classical English Pugilism? Plus the many variations of County Folk wrestling? Including Lancashire Catch As Catch Can, Westmoreland and Cumberland wrestling, plus Cornish wrestling just to make a few!

Britian invented catch as catch can wrestling, we practise stick fighting up until 1940 in the navy. William Fairbairn invented modern combatics, we defined and refined boxing but to name a few to claim this bullshit as the only British martial art is disgraceful, 1/4 staff and 1/2 staff the longbow and others are British. No country can claim invention, who invented the punch or figure 4 is stupidity as is this film.
