    Gotta love Jay as an evaluator. He is brutally honest when it comes to young QBs. If he saw the same issues or red flags that he had with RGIII, he wouldn't hold back.

    I loved Jay as a playcaller.. talent evaluator, and now his film breakdowns are awesome. The best I've seen about Commanders #2 prospects.

      I liked all of those things about him. I didn't like his soft practices (which led to an insane number of injuries year in and year out), his failure to discipline the team (they were frequently one of the most penalized teams in the league), and his inability to make adjustments. Besides, why does a coach who was fired 5 years ago get a say in who we draft now?

    Lets bring Daniels home Washington. Maye is the most overhyped qb I can remember since Mac Jones. I don't see what people are seeing to draft him that high. Time will tell.

    I love Jayden's game but it's his redzone throws that make him the #2 pick for me. It's not talked about enough.

      Kirk Cousins couldn't throw a fade to the back pylon until he was in his 7th season. Jayden does it in his sleep.

    Love this analysis. Everywhere Gruden has gone, good quarterback play has followed. This is the guy who not only developed Kirk Cousins, but developed Sean McVay!

    As usual -- I disagree with Jay Gruden on what Washington should do. I wanted Jay fired so bad I could taste it, and I am still glad he's gone. I mean really glad. Maybe not Cerrato or Allen glad but just slightly below Norv Turner but, above Ron Rivera glad.

      He was the longest tenured HC during the Snyder era which says something. He also had the #1 passing attack in the NFL for 2 years and helped develop Kirk. Maybe you dont like his lackadasical approach but yiu cannot deny this guy knows his football on the offensive end.

      @@treflips2158 any QB we get will have mobility. Maye has mobility. J.J. has mobility. They also have bigger bodies than Jayden and can take more hits

    Running a 4.3 doesn't make u a good thrower of the ball .

      Joe burrow doesn’t have an elite arm, drew Brees never had an elite arm, tua has a pretty weak arm, Brock purdy doesn’t have an elite arm, Jalen hurts doesn’t have an elite arm

      He can make all of the throws. His arm talent is only an issue when he throws off his back foot or tries to make off-balance throws under pressure.

    Because he doesn’t throw across the middle. Fields was statistically good throwing across the middle like Daniels in college, but he just never threw it, that’s why his stats were so good

      He didn’t have to , in college most QBs don’t do it much, we had these questions about Joe as well because most the time he just threw it up to his WR.
      I honestly don’t think Justin had to time for development in one system to get comfortable and grow. His had 2-3 different OC. You can’t expect much progress in that environment.

      @@terencebarnes7393 they don’t draw up entire plays for a game that don’t target the middle. He avoided the middle, and it shows on tape. Burrow was also throwing his receivers open and had the best college qb season ever, don’t use him as the normal. All the other qbs threw it across the middle more besides nix

      He didn’t do it in college that’s a fact, it’s going to get harder in the nfl that’s a fact, he’s going to have to do it that’s a fact.

      @@lukiepookie6227 I think it’s something he can do. Like I said with Fields he will have time develop in the system and see improvements. I also think from day one he can win you some games just based on where he at now. I think Terry and Dotson will love him because he will definitely look to give it to his best targets, love his ball placement.

    So he is above Maye because he runs fast? None of these other things you brought up he does better than Maye. And maye is an elite runner as well, most first down carries on 3rd and 4th down. 2nd most carries for 10+ yards only behind Daniels.

      The only thing Maye has over Jayden is arm strength and size. I will also give he runs to pass more. That’s it he not as accurate, doesn’t have great touch consistently. He’s good for a few WTF throws every game. Has a slow release. I don’t see the hype at all. I do see potential in a few years you might have something ,but he not ready out the gate.

      @@terencebarnes7393 arm strength, size, passing, zip, deep accuracy, throwing over the middle, running after contact, pocket manipulation, although enter have great. He has a 4% adjusted completion lower than Daniels, despite playing with a worse line coaching and talent. He’s younger, bigger, taller, more of an athlete. He’s not Daniels fast but he’s definitely very fast.
      He makes more nfl throws than any other qb.
      Daniels has better footwork, although as he said it’s inconsistent, better release. That’s it.
      He’s ready to play right now, he has the highest ceiling.

      @@lukiepookie6227 Deep accuracy naw. His deep is good but I don’t see the consistent touch. Yes the middle of the throws will give though.
      My think is if Maye is so good why are ex QB and coaching not crazy about him. The draft pundits love him and think he could almost automatically be Josh Allen or Herbert. When he is Closer Sam Darnold coming out. Josh Allen development is not the norm.

      @@terencebarnes7393 he has a better BTT percentage. Daniel’s adjusted completion for deep passes was below 40 his first 4 years, this year it was 63. No one makes that kind of leap. It’s a product of him have better receivers.
      People had all these complaints about Josh Allen Herbert and stroud

    Daniels also does not make playoffs off schedule. He runs on 45% of pressures dropbacks, and only throws 50% of the time.

      1134 yards rushing will do that. More often than not, he's not going to throw to anyone on the field who is better with the ball in their hands.
