- The Mawl and Torch Extender (MATE) is an collaborative product between Kinetic Consulting and FerniLab. Together we have created the MATE. The MATE was created to integrate the B.E. Meyers MAWL EC1/EC2 and a scout pattern weapon light. It positions the light in the optimal place to be able to remove the head of the light to change batteries and adjust the Mawls elevation turret.

Keep bringing innovative solutions brother. This was the one aspect of the mawl I hated - now fixed. The dump pouch is awesome ju ju too. It is quite obvious your gear is user driven - unlike quite a few others. @cough Hydra @cough
This is going to work perfect and while I'm at it I'll get a new Bugatti shifter paddles encrusted in diamonds. LoL but we can still dream of having to fix our mawls and white light.
Question, why does everybody like to put their white light on the same side as the MAWL, when you could just put it on the other side and either use thumb activation or a pad?
@@yzhou05 usually around cover and shooting right handed having the light on the right stays out of the way much better than mounted on the left. But it is totally user preference. But the light if active will wash you out more on the left side. But you can just get the gun over a little more it’s totally up to you and either way will work. Little easier on the right
@@yzhou05 so I had an issue with it on 2 rifles. I have a mawl on a scar 16 sbr and a KAC sr16. The sr16 has a very odd mounting solution with only very little pic rail, so it’s either run it where it hits the mawl (and can’t be used) or basically on the bottom rail where you can’t get even a relatively good grip. I hate that I had to buy one, but I did.

Just a heads up BE Meyers has had a specific mount for the mawl and lights for at least a year now. You have to call and ask for it. I have two of them and they work just like this.

Love the MATE. Any tips for removing the little C clip retainer that secures the side of the pic mount to the laser. That sucker is recessed in there.

With the MAWL off of the rail, tighten down the mounting screw. This will expose the end of the screw and the clip so you can get the clip off.
Would love to see a video on a compact NV and compact NV capable gun. Wanting to build out a small backpack capable setup for NV and for a firearm. Loved you MPX video. You still using it?

Is the stock mounting bracket on the MAWL not made of steel? I'm curious if yours being made of 7075 would have any durability or strength issues over time. I know the rest of the MAWL is aluminum so it may be a non-issue.
I haven't seen any issues and doubt there will be. Probably wreck the mawl before the mount fails.

thats cool but im not a fan of the mawl. i prefer a top mounted laser . my favs are the ngal and raid xe
