Y'all! This video was fantastic! Congrats on taking off! When people ask us what is the biggest thing in actually getting out there our answer is always just getting up the courage to truly do it, and you absolutely did it! Can't wait to see you on the water one day!
@@patrickandmichaela Awe, Eric is star struck that you watched one of our videos. We watch all of yours. We will be heading down the East coast and would love to meet up sometime. We just made it across Lake Erie and are heading into Lake Ontario on Tuesday.
Enjoyed your trip. We did a similar trip on a Tartan 27 in 1972 with another couple, going from our anchorage in Little Sturgeon, just north of Green Bay and spending the first night on Beaver island and then on to Mackinac Island. Many problems over the week that we had solve for the one week vacation, and we still tell stories about that trip today with our friends. No GPS, only radio direction finder and dead reconning with our compass. Increasing wind and waves on the trip over and lots of fog on the return trip. Brings back many memories.
Wow, I’m so glad this popped up in my feed. This video is great and the music paired so well. I love what y’all are doing with this adventure. I can’t wait to see more.
I love Lake Michigan, so many places to explore. As a Lake Superior sailor…Lake Michigan has quite a bit more habitation and is significantly warmer than Superior. They are two closeby but quite different places
@@SailingOnward Hopefully you can get up there another season! I would suggest however July and August. June can still be in the mid 40's temp wise well into June, especially east of the Keewenaw. We have to take the dog to shore twice a day and we anchor out most of the time so we need it accessible. Our dinghy is named Idaho and she is a tough old survivor.
I heve not figured out your anchor rode arrangement. Clearly you’re using a rope rode, yet there’s chain on the anchor, and chain on deck. So it’s not just a long snubber. How can you have chain on the anchor, as evidenced by when the anchor comes aboard, and yet have chain on deck while the anchor is down?
@@johnbeck2797 we have about 20’ of chain attached to the anchor and 150’ of rope attached to the chain. There is never chain on the deck when the anchor is down only rope. I wish we had more chain then we wouldn’t have to put out so much rope when we anchor. Hope that helps.
Excellent video!!! Thank you for sharing this!!!! Very well done!!
Thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!
Lake Michigan is NO JOKE. I live in a small town off the Lake Michigan and I'm friends with the Coast Guard Captain... I hear horror stories. Be safe.
@@degarmo187 so true! It can be crazy out there.

I'm glad this popped up in my feed, as a Michigander myself it's great to see you embarking on this adventure from a start on the lakes!
So glad to have you along on our journey. We are so enjoying exploring the lakes. We are almost to Lake Erie.
Thanks for the ride
Glad you are joining us.
Live in Michigan ❤
Ludington has the best beach, in my opinion.
Saugatuck was voting the best beach in travel magazines.
Love the mitten ❤❤❤
We were so busy we didn’t even get to check out the beach. Wish we would have.

We are so sad we are not going to have time to explore Lake Superior. We tried to fit it in June but the weather did not cooperate.

Always chase ground when having charging issues....if altenator and regulator is ruled out it is almost always ground connections
Thank you for the tip. Alternator is fixed now but in the future that information could be very helpful.
