- For my current spinning project I decided to spin a properly blended rainbow gradient. So of course I had to share that process with you all. I hope this video is helpful for spinners who are trying to get more out of their hand carders.
The fibre I used in this video was dyed and curated by Nicole Frost of Frost Yarn. I highly recommend you check her out.

Frost is certainly the queen of rainbow fibers. She has really mastered them.
She absolutely has, and her batts are just amazing to spin as well!!
This is so useful! I’m a newbie spinner and no one ever explained blending with hand cards so clearly and with such common sense.
I love your videos, each one is an in-depth discussion of what you are showing us. You are an excellent teacher, THANKS 😊
Thank you for a great lesson! You are a very talented and good teacher!
Really enjoying your spin podcasts. Very informative and practical. thank you!
Thank you for such a thoughtful lesson on carding and color theory. I enjoy when i can learn more than one thing at a time. Looking forward to seeing the final yarn
Great info! Love blending fiber over just dyeing. The heathered effect is mesmerizing. Thanks for sharing
Thank you. This video helped me tremendously!
Thanks for sharing! Don't think I had seen this way of flicking it to get the fibers to gradually transfer to the other carder. Will have to try it out next time! 🙂
This great I’ve been wanting to doing for the Pressed Flower Cardigan now I have a good understanding of it 😀 Thanks so much 😀
❤
That looks great! Why do you need to transfer the fibers back to the original carder and then start again?
Every time you pass the fibers back and forth it mixes them up more. To get a well blended piece of fibre a couple passes should be enough
