It took a long time to get over Coulson's death at the end of S5, and then just when I was starting to believe that we were getting him back in S6 (Sarge's "Kill me, Skye!" moment) ... then it turned out that Sarge wasn't what he seemed. But, you know, in a funny way, I actually loved this Coulson best of all. I think I just related to his existential crisis about who/what he was so much that he feels like every bit as much of the genuine Coulson as OG Coulson.

S6 E13...What a roller-coaster ride from start to finish. Poor Caulson. He just couldn't stay dead for long. SHIELD keeps bringing him back from the dead in one form or the other. When Coulson (Clark Gregg) is on the screen, I'm hanging on to every word and nuance. The only two other times this happens is when Heath Ledger plays the joker and during the movie Becket. I am literally frozen in attention absorbing everything I can.
The premiere was great, except for one thing, where the hell is Fitz? He is my favorite and I really don't hope that he only appears in a handful of episodes. I loved how the premiere dove right back in where they left off without any time jump. Since it is the last season, I do hope we see the team working together in more than one of two episodes and not apart like the previous two seasons.

I know his mind was updated with information about the time he missed out, most likely through security footage of the real Coulson and then Sarge in Seasons 5 and 6, both of himself and the rest of the team. But then how does he seem to remember making the deal with Ghost Rider? He knew one was made, but he seemed to be thinking out loud of deciding whether or not to let Ghost Rider burn through the Kree blood. The rest of the things he said we can gather as him reacting to security footage, or him quoting himself, not thoughts. Could it be that the LMD of Coulson still has some sort of link to Ghost Rider?
My personal headcannon is that Fitz, Simmons, and Enoch used the time stream to not only find the path to defeating the Chronicoms, but also to "recover" as many of Coulson's (and possibly some of Sarge's) memories as they could.
