You are just the best teacher! Once again I have created a word document with everything you just said to help me be a better mommy to my orchids. You explain things so well. I am a full time student and with each section of my studies, I get a new teacher. Sometimes they are fantastic, others... well, you know. But you can are an ace teacher!

Hi!! 😍💐 so good to see you again, I really appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment! I hope the hectic was for all the right reasons and all is ok in your part of the world 🙏🏼 you have yourself a wonderful upcoming week as well! Thank you so much 🌸
Good evening lovely lady! Beautiful sunshine, huh? Not yet here :D I hope the direct sun won't come as soon... I currently have my shade loving chids on a windowsil directly in the path of morning sun. Might burn them to crisp if the strong sun comes :D But the place where they are in summer wouldn't provide enough light for them, so it's better to risk burn. I have some either chemical burn or sun burn on a small ring on a new leaf of my phal... oh well... it's just a small "fault" in an otherwise shiny leaf. Yellow leaves always give me the creeps. If I see yellow and it's not systematic (aka deficiency), I'm moving my chids to shade :D But then again, as I mentioned, all of mine are shade lovers... I hope this year spring at least comes steadily and not like last year, when we had weeks of 10C+ during the day and then 2 weeks of freezing cold again, which killed some of my bonsai. Luckily the chids shouldn't suffer similar fate. But I'd like to see them adapted and well. Anyway, nice informative video, thank you for that! Have a nice rest of the day!
Hey 🌸🥷🏼SnowDragonka San 🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️😍 so sweet of you to be watching this video as well 🙏🏼 thank you! No sunshine today, nope! It actually rained last night, and of course I did not believe the weather forecast... 40%... pfft... it did not rain back when they said 80% chance of rain, so I did not bring the laundry in for 40%! 🤪 It rained!! Of course! 🤣 and low temps all day, no point in taking the 'chiddos outside. I did not even move the mounts. Yes!! Last spring was crazy!! It was too cool for far too long, and then bam... blistering sun... blistering summer heat never really came, wind yes, making everything feel warmer and dry out quicker, but the heat never really manifested itself. I remember pining for the warm Spring and was really disappointed. Hoping that this won't repeat itself in the coming weeks. I am sick of cold hands and feets 😤 Thank you so much for your kind comment 🙏🏼 always such a pleasure reading them. Got me some housekeeping done today ... Sunday funday, NOT 😅 hope your day was relaxing and everything you wanted it to be 🌸🥷🏼❤️
It is so hard to diagnose most problems that orchids have while there is still time to correct but I’m learning. My oncidiums developed yellow leaf tips after I bought a new, more powerful plant light. A first I thought was too much light, but weeks later , I think they had dried out faster under that light and higher fan speed. I have been watering more frequently and haven’t had any more yellowing.
HI Linda 😍💐 your diagnosis with your oncidiums is spot on... higher light, its possible, if there is some residual heat coming from them, meaning less humidity and add the airflow, less humidity, sooo you were spot on with your observations, clearly, your corrections have proven that fact! Nice! 👍🏼👍🏼 love it when that happens! Thank you so very much for watching, Linda. I hope that you had yourself a wonderful Sunday 🤗🌸
HI Norman 🥰💐 thank you so much for your feedback and for watching, Norman. Good to see you again 🤗 I am so tempted to go running around that corner, wherever Spring may still be lurking and grabbing it by the arm, dragging it to my patio, just to speed things up! 😎 I hope you had a wonderful Sunday, Norman 🌸
HI Shirley 😍💐 thank YOU so very much for taking the time to watch, Shirley!! Really hope that you had yourself a beautiful Sunday and... I wish you a cozy evening 🥰🌸
🌸🥷🏼 Bob San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️🥰💐 hello my amazing BFF! Thank you so much for watching this evergreen video, I appreciate you and thank YOU for your time and support 🫶🏼 having all these highly informative video in my libraries, without them getting 'any attention' is a little like having a great novel in the bookshelf, collecting dust. But here you are 🥹 thank YOU so much! 🫶🏼 wishing you the most fabYOUlous of Fridays, befitting your status in my books as the most fabYOUlous 🌸🥷🏼 Cariño San 🫶🏼❤️🌸
Sunburn, pests, old leaf, dehydration, magnesium deficiency all true in my experience. Over watering and over fertilisation definitely will lead to more yellowing of orchid leaves. Thank you so much Nina. Shall try to set the optimum level of everything for our orchids. Wish you a great Sunday.
Jose 🤩💐 sooo many possibilities, and so many combinations within those possibilities as well! Isn't orchid growing fun? 😅 Thank YOU so much for watching, Jose! I sincerely hope that you had a great Sunday and wish you a great start to the new week 🌸
Hi GIovana 🥰💐 thank YOU so very much for your feedback! In a couple of days we will talk about Red leaves 😃 😅 I hope you had yourself a great Sunday, GIovana! Have a lovely evening 🌸
🦒💖🙌🙏 Warning signs and some ease of mind clarifications are very much appreciated and are never enough, either as new or as reminders. We tend to forget the obvious and panic when there is no reason to. Diagnosis is not easy sometimes, either. Hope a beautiful sunny and warm day is awaiting for you to enjoy. It cooled off around these parts, the real feel outdoors is 6 C 🥶 at the moment and although sunny, the day is not going to be warmer than 17C. The good news is that we are reaching the 11 hour day mark, yay!!! Much love 🥰😍😘 to you and yours.
FFF 🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️😍🥰💐 hey meine liebe Freundin! So many factors can play a part in diagnosis, that is true. And, it takes a long time to get to the bottom of actually correcting something if it was the wrong diagnosis, and visa versa, the right diagnosis will also take a while to correct,... i hope that this video will shorten the time span for others, in case they see things they may consider out of the norm. No need to wait, or... hopefully a quicker 'click' moment that avoids issues all together. Especially artificial light growers. ... no one is immune in this wonderful hobby of ours'. It has cooled off considerably today as well. We are back to 16ºC and it rained last night, so the orchids are staying indoors. I have my equipment charging for filming, but nothing that charges my brain to get a move on 🤪🔌😤 zombie status. I rained a little last night 👍🏼 and of course, I did not trust the weather forecast, if it says 40% and I did not bring the laundry in 🥳🥳🤬 isn't that just typical!! Off to make more tea and see if the mounts need watering. dum di dum di dum! Have yourself a beautiful day, amiga! Stay warm, hope that sun has come out for you, your orchids and your fur babies 😍 thank you so very very much for watching 😘❤️🌸
You really covered the gamut. Now maybe I missed it, but leaves may yellow and fall if the orchid is exposed to temperatures that are not to its liking. Grammatophyllums are notorious for dropping their leaves if the temperature goes below 48 F/ 8.9 C. The bulbs will be fine, but the leaves will quite suddenly yellow and drop. Cooler growers will often do the same if the night temperatures are too warm for too long. And speaking of, those two nights of cold took a while to rear its ugly head, but Dendrobium Samurai and a couple of others are looking a little worse for wear. Not going to die, but there is quite a bit of defoliation going on.
Don Miguel 🥰💐 I did not mention leaves yellowing specifically on orchids that were exposed to a temperature drop that was not to their liking and not part of their normal culture, so... thank you for adding that point. I am glad to hear that Samurai is going to be ok 👍🏼 fun fact: maybe you already know this... Dendrobium Samurai was registered as 'Samarai' and supposedly that was a misspelling which has never been corrected. 🤷🏼♀️ I still would like me a piece of that orchid even if my tag has to say Samarai. Close enough 😅 we got ourselves some rain last night, and a as a result of the gloomy day, the orchids are staying inside. I have a few things to film, but am feeling meh today... we shall see what happens. Plenty of Ninja Clips are posted, but standard videos, not so much. Equipment is charging.... now, if I could only get my brain to do the same 😅 hope you woke up to a beautiful Sunday, amigo!! Thank you so much for watching ❤️ and now the sun is coming out 🤣 ok... maybe the mounts and the tolumnias can go outside, but, not the rest. 👍🏼🤪
Very interesting! I have some Cattleya labiata and warscewiczii alba seedlings that are much much lighter than their school mates. At first I thought they might be deficient in magnesium but duh I’m blasting them with light
HI Matt 🤩💐 it won't hurt to give them a little magnesium boost for the sugar juices to start flowing, even if you put a little more distance between the leaves and the light source. 👍🏼 I am glad that this video provided some food for though! Thank you so very much for watching, Matt 🥰🌸
Duh! I made a rookie mistake and failed to realize my rescue DEn Phal was getting bigger and needed more water. Ugh!!!! Anyhoo or hakuna matata as you said.. I find that re watching several of your videos I glean a few more kernels of knowledge. Thank you!!!
Debbie, hi 😍💐 hakuna matata, indeed!! Celebrate the size increase of that den phal! I hope that, one day, I am going to be able to grow them again. I loooooove them so much! They are such a treat when they start new roots 🤪 I appreciate that you go back to the evergreen videos, lovely lady! Thank YOU so much for the support. I hope that you wake up to a beautiful day 🫶🏼❤️🌸
