Instant Buttermilk pancake mix prepared according to directions but thick, not liquid, put on top of berries (any kind) add a little brown or white sugar or honey to both. Cook til batter is done. Made a blueberry cobbler batch two days ago. At home top with heavy cream, whipped cream, or ice cream. Peace
I grew up in Washington state and we had wild huckleberries growing in our yard and in the forest behind our house. We made so many things with them every summer. But never thought to do dumplings. Thanks for the idea. We used to make that compute then put them on pancakes or waffles or crepes. Love this. One more way to use the wild berries to advantage. 😊❤️
Right on. We have a good amount of huckleberries here as well. Don't seem to be as popular but I love them. Thinking about making a desert with them sometime soon. Thanks for commenting
Looks great, Mark. That is no doubt delicious. Enjoy. I think you know now to start with the Bisquick and then add water. Thanks for the lesson in etymology.
Mark the only problem with picking blueberries in Manitoba is your partner in the patch could be named Bruno Bruin!! Have had not a few in counter's over the years. Thanks for the memories!!!
That sure looks good. I will have to try that one & I even have a small Bisquick pack. I also have a few small packs of Betty Crocker Blueberry muffin mix, that might be an interesting experiment to try on top.
I wondered when you added the water as the buttermilk Biscuits mix only calls for 1/2 cup for the whole mix. I use them all the time and wish they had been around when I was younger. We used to stew blueberries up with sugar when we were picking then and put them on fresh bannock called it bush pie, now you had to sing loud when you were berry picking so the bears would know you were there and generally move away.
Yes, I started out with way too much water. Bush pie sounds like a great idea. Funny, I ran in to a mamma bear with two cubs a few years ago while out running. I surprised them (and they me) because they were busy eating...blueberries. Thanks for commenting

That is how we made it, but didn't have the instant mix as a youth.
Right on. I am thinking of making a cobbler or two in the woods with either huckleberries or apples and cranberries. Thanks for commenting
Connie has been busy picking a lot of wild blueberries this year. We just might have to give the blueberry grunt a try. Your video had me drooling.
It was better than it looked. Let me know how it turns out for you

We have blackberries and raspberries where I live.
You have to watch for copperhead snakes but the berries are worth it.
