I miss this show so much...definitely deserves a second season. We could use something so laid back and cozy as Hakumei & Mikochi in these difficult times.

The manga's ongoing. The anime covered all that had come out up to that point, really, but that was volume 5 or so. They're up to volume 9 in English now.

The soundtrack for this truly wonderful slice of life fantasy series really is like something out of Lord of the rings for the every day gentlefolk. Absolutely perfect.
Since I watched this show It has been growing inside my head... I realized how well made it was created based on the mood this show is capable of putting you on and the way a new perspective of the world is shown. I get sad whenever I think I won't ever find any show like Hakumei to Mikochi but I feel so grateful for the lessons and beauty of life it reminds us of.. Thank you so much, sincerely. ❤️
If you haven't had a chance to check out the series Non Non Biyori, I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Hakumei and Mikochi. Even though they're different genre's, both shows have a sweat, laid-back vibe and a deep understanding of the mechanics of interpersonal relationships and their inherent philosophies. Both shows also feature top notch character design and beautiful animation.
This sounds like if you made a whole album of original songs of all the motifs found in Howard Shore's theme for the Shire. which is very, very fitting.
