frieren is really different anime than most of anime out there. most of anime story line is begin with A to Z. but freiren is a story from Z to A. where all storyline is very peaceful, slow paced journey. Yet everytime there is a fighting scene, the production never let you down. they give you all!!! one of the greatest animation fighting scene!
Started watching today and the first thing that catched my attention was the music and sound. It's the mark of something well done. Every scene has something in the background enhancing the experience. Sometimes it's the beautiful music. Sometimes it's the sound of the wind blowing. Sometimes is the sound of the spells and blades clashing. Sometimes is the silence! Truly beautiful.
Yeah the music director really did a great job. Perhaps even Evan Call composed the soundtracks in a movie-scoring way. Anyway they both bring great efforts to give a cinematic and fully immersive feel to this anime in terms of music!
I really appreciate that these BGM mixes are variations on the OST themes, putting in the effort to keep the same theme but meaningfully change the tone depending on the scene is very nice. I can't believe they're cooking up this legendary stuff every week...
The music when Fern and Stark battle Lugner and Linie on episode 09 and when Frieren defeat the flower that was giving Sein some troubles on episode 15 is my favorite so far. Sounds so powerful, epic and elegant at the same time.
Full Metal Alchemist's music was the last anime series that moved me so much until Frieren debuted. Just like the music in FMA made it the most popular series in its' time, the music for Frieren will do the same for this time. I've always believed that music could make or break an anime. Music for Frieren has definitely enhanced its' dynamic appeal. Its' perfect blending of pipes, flutes orchestra and choral accompaniment supports each scene from beginning to climax. It's a joy to listen to it.
The Composer of this anime is the same one that did the music for Violet Evergarden which he was equally praised for! Once I found out Evan Call was behind this I was not surprised!
Yep, Evan Call makes some amazing music. He’s definitely up there with Kevin Penkin, Joe Hisaishi, Yoko Kanno, and The Pillows (flcl is my all time favorite anime ost) as some of my favorite producers of anime related music
Have you watched Made in Abyss? I haven't watched it myself, its on my to watch list, but from what I heard its music is just as good (I think better cos I've come across its OST already) and it also has a good story and great animation.
@@somebodyintheworld5036 Yes I'm very familiar with Made in Abyss. It's one of my ten all time anime favorites, and the music is very good. I do recommend viewing it unless you are a minor. Then you should wait until you are 14 or older. While it's good I still prefer Violet Evergarden and Frieren over it because Evan Call is the composer. If you have not seen Violet Evergarden, I strongly recommend it to you. It moved me to tears on several occasions, something very few animes had ever done. ☺
I think i watched an anime series every time the planets align... (Extremely rarely). The topic and setting influences a lot if im going to watch it. I dont care if its recognized as one of the bests, if the setting doesnt interest me, i get bored. Last anime i watched that i loved was Berserk. Medieval Fantasy is an enormous plus for me. I heard of Frieren as the most Tolkienesque elf in anime. And im a fan of Tolkien too. "Here you will dwell bound to your grief under the fading trees until all the world is changed and the long years of your life are utterly spent." As a character that continues to outlive her friends and such. Frieren is really getting my attention. I think im going to watch it.
@@noldorwarrior7791 personally, it's the best anime I've watched in the past 2 decades. The story, the characters, the art, the music, even cinematography and screenplay. This show has had me admiring and caring more about a dead side character the first episode in, I couldn't even give a damn about the protagonists of most animes.
This, this is one of the many reasons why I love frieren, and one of the many things that most anime ignore. The music, the music can completely change how you feel about a particular anime. It changes the whole vibe and feel of the anime. That's why I love music, but sadly many anime ignore it or just treat as an extra. But I love that the people who made frieren carefully considered the music and picked the right person to make it
Music can definitely make an anime into a masterpiece, maybe even make a bad anime good or at least tolerable. But unfortunately, I think the animators and studios who ignore it are limited by budget, rather than them being dismissive of the value music can bring. I'd assume most animators working in the industry are passionate about their work. They'd almost definitely have watched Miyazaki films, and other TV anime with great music. They should know exactly how important music can be already.
Fern's theme being a sorta remix of Qual's theme feels like an interesting bit of fridge logic: Qual's most powerful spell became Fern's most used spell.
Ich kann noch immer etwas empfinden. Nach all der Zeit, nach all dem was ich erlebt habe, kann ich immer noch weinen, lachen, noch mutig fühlen und etwas bewegen wollen. Ich liebe, ich hasse, ich lebe. Und bald ist all das zu Ende. Wie schön das Leben ist .
I'm going to be honest, last episodes whenever I heard 21:48 I got kind of annoyed thinking "this song again?". But then, when I look for it's name, I felt almost guilty. Like I was getting annoyed with Frieren for thinking about Himmel. Now it's my favorite song.
I'm debating whether I can listen to this with my headphones at office or not. I figure my coworkers might be weirded out a bit if I'm breaking out in tears for no apparent reason. 😂
This is awesome... I fell in love in the second chapter of the manga. Also, I have some request. Could you cover the theme of Sword Village (Tsurugi no Sato) please? Somehow it have game vibe to me
Somebody please explain how come Frieren's clothes never change. She's wearing the same outfit after many decades of wandering. Elves may live for a long time, but she's supposedly wearing everyday clothes. She likely doesn't know a spell to fix them, or Fern wouldn't have asked one from Serie. So, what gives?
