Jazzy Jeff was always a dope, dope, real-deal battle DJ. His chose the commercial path with Fresh Prince, but he was always the balls of the group. He is a prodigy on the tables. I've never heard anything better than what he did on that He's the DJ record. It sounds crazy but its true. Will was a great performer. As a white kid in the 80's I grew up to this record. I would say Ugly people Be Quiet Cash and Marv has the edge over that track although Hes the DJ is a classic, possible a draw, I think Live at Union Square though hasn't really been surpassed yet. I think Fresh Prince had some clever tracks but back in the day I bought their albums mainly to hear Jeff.

Although similar styles being funny and clean rappers, Will Smith was a much better rapper than both Kid & Play. He was also a DOPE story teller. Listen to parents just don't understand. The way he told that story which all kids back then went through, infused comedy, it made sense and he switched up his voice to sound like his mom, is incredible (especially in the 80's). He was in the same vein as Slick Rick, another GOAT when it comes to story telling, Will was just funny with not hardcore. It's wild how people say he's a wack rapper! Will's NEVER been wack, just not hard. If you say Will is wack you don't know real hiphop. He embodies EVERYTHING hiphop is...a DJ, a rapper with the mic spittin', dancers and the rapper dancing as well. Look at this lit performance. To say Will is wack is blasphemy. Oh...also, FUCK Feminem, yes, I called him feminem not eminem, for saying Will is corny. If you listen to em he does some of the same rhyme patterns Young Will does in Brand New Funk. He just curses. Also, in the early days, em used to add dark comedy and switch up his voice for different characters like Will used to do. Pay respect!

One of the greatest DJ performances ever. It was live. New York always had the MCs but we had the greatest DJs in the world back 80’s and 90’s.
