Everything has its opposite, we must remember death so that we can understand the value of life and seek to prepare for death in the best way possible.
We must remember sometimes, including myself first.

Thank you Dr Pavlick. Well presented, with excellent examples of key talking points. You caution that it’s easy in this giddy and fevered GAI moment to overlook the hallucinatory and risk aspects of the technology while recognizing the immense potential. 👏🙏

I had difficulty to hear words at the end of sentences. I felt that the speaker spoke clearly at first, but faded out at the last few words.

"...for people who are software engineers...lot of routine stuff that time is wasted on..." All this "wasted time" is also known as "learning and maintaining coding skills". We teach basic maths to kids so they will have foundational knowledge, but without using it as adults it often becomes weak and those adults have issues. Young software engineers who avoid learning and exercising basic routine coding tasks may struggle to achieve the same skill level and in time this may create issues for industry as a whole.

The missing element ... Generative models should be taught how to say, "I DON'T KNOW!" when they don't.

That's a really good point that I don't think is possible to train into a single model. But researchers get around this by chaining multiple "chatgpts" together

Awesome stuff, Only if biology could allow for a little bit more time, Only If I were a little bit smarter, Only If could be a little bit longer.
We have been made to feel like people each with 5 five brain cells amd two of them dont even function properly, Though we can talk forever.

Quit saying, “um”. You should use a generative language model to give your talk because it won’t say, “um”. And by the way, where does it say, “um”, in your notes? And what purpose does it serve other than to confound your viewers with your lack of preparation and lack of confidence?
