I have kitchen cabinets very similar to yours. I have also debated if i should paint them. I CAN NOT do it! The wood is so pretty and i think if i painted them i would end uo regretting it. I actually painted my kitcheb burgundy and it looks beautiful with the cabinets! Burgundy is not for everyone, but i love how it looks with my cabinets. All that to say, maybe if you found a wall color to complement the wood, you would feel less compelled to paint the cabinets.

I think they are very comfy and I love to sit & rock/swivel in them. lol The only thing I can say is that the recliner part was very stiff and my kids had a hard time getting them to close at first but I think they are loosening up the more we use them! It was the best decision changing our formal dining room over!
Your home is so pretty your cabinets aren’t terrible they’re nice but a lighter color would be nice too. Your bedroom looks great I would leave it alone.

The designers say this wood color is out of style, but I am a conservationist. If it is in good shape--just clean it, fix it up. My cleaners just rubbed oil on my cabinet faces, and they look so good. Your cabinets look clean, so you may have already done that. Painting your kitchen walls white might do the brightening you want.

From the prior owners, my house is a mix of cool gray walls and countertops, and warm wood cabinet and floors. I like the mix, and receive compliments from visitors. I have the same whitish wall trim that you do. I want to repaint the walls a lighter gray, but ran into some issues (so on hold for now).
@ourhoustonsmithhome My sister pointed out the mix in cool and warm neutrals to me, and said she liked it. I do like it, myself, and it makes it easy for me to continue to use my 40+ years of collected furniture. I am going to purchase new wall art (that makes more sense for this house), but that is a lot less expensive than furniture. I took my old wall art to my work office, and it looks great there. Win, win.

That sounds like a nice mix! I think my wood cabients, matching wood floors & brown counter tops is just too much brown for me now! Lol
