The one thing I like about Syd, is that his art/music to me is very personal. He exposes so much of himself, unlike other superstars we know of. Thats why his legacy has endured, and continues to flourish.
I heard Syd threw away or burned some of his paintings. What amazes me is after pink floyd or after mad cap recordings"(probably much later) Syd starts to remodel the house he grew up in. Replacing door handles with toys.

@@davidtomsovic9991 You can see on some of the titles who owns them. Jenny Spires for example. I believe that this exhibition was made shortly after his death. There was also an auction of some of this stuff(including his bikes, his armchair and some other DIY things from his house) I'm pretty sure that his family sold most of what they had. Perhaps they kept some of these things as memories and mementos, but they were his family and not his fans after all.
My loss- never pushed past the hype.He was a VERY talented artist. I would love to have his work on my walls, not just the great music to get lost in.And Yoko still pushing Lennon's childish doodles ?

Very sorry to say so, but he was a much much MUCH better musician ( even genial) than a painter. The watercolors are plain amateurish. The abstracts like wallpaper. The bouquets mediocre. It is good for him he enjoyed painting.
@Yusuf Shaikh There are some basic standards concerning techniques, craftsmanship and sincere attention in art. Mannerism and lust for money are always visible for people with an honest heart and eyes that see....not watch. .

Painting is much more alluring than anything else, he was very good at it also.

Pretty sure if these were being shown by a non-celebrity they wouldn't get a second look. Not exactly bad, but nothing special either.
You’re correct.

That’s just your opinion...
m vl and Yusuf Shaikh You are both so right! Nowadays many people even think shit can be art 😂 The emperor's new clothes .

@Yusuf Shaikh Comparing one of world's best paintings (craftsmanship, coloring, composition integrity) with the works of Syd Barret....yeah right 😂
