This was a fun vlog! I have never really thought about getting an electric vehicle but there are a ton of cool features, like you said. Looking forward to you learning a kick flip and heel flip!
You are charging on at Waypoint charger which is not “high speed”. That’s the same as your home charger. You need to look for chargers with three lightning bars on it for DCFC speeds. Also, to use Tesla superchargers, you will need an adapter.
Wow that is sooooooo cool I am 11 years old and I want one of those cars when I’m older I always watch your videos every day. I love your videos and channel.❤
Electric vehicles are cool for people who use them for getting around town. Not so good for long road trips, towing, intense off road activities. I like the storage space and and speaker, the flashlight is interesting. In general i dont think electric trucks are worth it for people who do truck stuff. But I'm glad you like yours!
This is a shortbed and more of a lifestyle truck, but it does tow 11000 lbs. up to about 100 miles on a charge so short ranges it's great for towing. Also really excellent at offloading, check that out on RUclips.
As someone who uses these a lot…get windshield protective film installed immediately. The windshields on these will break with even the tiniest rock hit. Our fleet has 10 of them and just in the first 2 months of the year we spent 18k replacing windshields
I'm surprised you got rid of your Bronco. I've never been in an electric vehicle nor have I ever driven one, but maybe one day I will. Love your new truck.
Hey what's up Andrew congrats on the new car looks sick I love the color. Just figured out you had your own channel! I bet the next Jstu video is going to be a banger!
I am a huge car enthusiast and love it when you post about your cars lol. I noticed this in your garage in the last JSTU studios video, so that’s when I figured out you got one. Did you get rid of the bronco, or do you still have it? Have you seen the new Rivian R2, R3, and R3X? They are pretty cool. I’m a pretty big fan of Rivian, I think they make the perfect EV. Glad you got one.
@@DadVlogs the cybertruck definitely looks more unique, but I’m not sure it’s a good thing. The Rivian is just the right amount of traditional truck, combined with modernization. The cybertruck almost seems too minimalist to be a practical and enjoyable daily. With the Rivian it’s a lot easier to figure out and more usable. The proportions of the cybertruck also make it worse for blindspots, and I feel like it would give it less of a homey feel like the Rivian would give. The Rivian just does everything perfect, and the cybertruck has major drawbacks. Tesla definitely has the resources to blow competition out of the water, but they had a pretty big let down with this one. Compared to the GMC Hummer EV and Ford F-150 Lightning, I think the Rivian is still better as well. It is far lighter, cheaper and smaller than the Hummer so it’s more practical for everyday use. And the ford is meant to be more of a traditional truck, turned electric, so really in my eyes it isn’t much of a competitor with the R1S. With the Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV, I think the Rivian also beats them out. They also are more traditional then the Rivian, but a little less traditional then the Ford. They just don’t have enough technology like literally every other EV out there to be a real competitor, but their range if phenomenal. So overall I think Rivian makes the best truck, and SUV EVs on the market, great choice with yours.
I'm in central Virginia. There's nothing here, it's very country, but people own Rivians. I saw a Fisker Ocean the other day. Never seen a Cybertruck though. These things are everywhere. Great trucks nonetheless.
Can I have your old car lol plz I’m a huge fan of the whole JStu crew my favs are the budget overnight challenges and I’d love to be a contestant on a vlog CHECKIN in from MICHIGAN LOVE YOU FAM #JSTU
You go from a real car to a cell phone on wheels! Electric vehicles are just a comic and aren't actually good for the environment, in the long run. The mining to get the materials for the batteries is very bad the environment. Even worse to recycle it.
So this "cell phone on wheels" stuff just started about (checks watch) .. 15 years ago. We're just getting going on it, things won't necessarily stay the same as they are now. Recycling is actively being worked on, they are already pulling lithium out of the ground without mining, batteries that don't use as many rare materials are already out there with more being developed. Unlike other fuels, the energy to run electric vehicles can come from anywhere. Our family has 3 teslas, all charged by the sun, every day. Beyond that, there is a huge string of additional features and benefits that wouldn't fit into this comment. there is so much more to the story than "a vehicle" that is "electric".
@blanketwodahs6741 the one thing they need to work on is the fire risk. It takes a lot longer to put out an ev fire then a gas vehicle fire. It also takes a lot longer to charge then it takes the gas car to fuel up.
@@StalloneSiciliano Both true. Charging speed for batteries is mostly related to battery capacity and cell composition. Better cell composition and denser batteries will give much larger range and faster charging. There are even companies currently working on hybrid style batteries that use two different chemistries in two different "sides" of the batteries to accommodate regular driving, long distance and charging, and would also deal with teh "Fire risk" as the everyday battery would be much smaller. There is a lot in the queue being developed. That being said, maybe EVs won't ever work some situations? EVs definitely do not work for every use case at the moment. I have a 100k mile 2014 Ford I have owned since new still parked out front that has a 7kwh lithium battery in it and it still works, etc. So far, not one fire. I think it is important to understand why batteries do catch fire, that goes a long way toward balancing expectations.

The thrill of the speed from an electric cars is pretty fantastic.
ive actually driven one of these bad boys. An absolutely great vehicle and super enjoyable to drive!

The R1T is probably my "dream car" have you seen the R2 that was announced? that looks sick!
Yeah the R2 looks awesome!

I live in Bloomington IL where they are made and they are really sick cars. I would love to get one at some point
Bronco vs Rivian Offroad Overnight?!
Eletric if fine if you like it, just wish they wouldn't push people to get them so much for the ones that prefer gas or diesel like me
Learned to drive in a Tesla and hate having to drive any other car. Love the Bronco tho, and this seems like a nice mix of the two.
I'm surprised you got rid of your Bronco. I've never been in an electric vehicle nor have I ever driven one, but maybe one day I will. Love your new truck.
Very cool truck Andrew I’m sure it will be cool to take it on family vacation.
Real solid vehicle!
Awesome dud

Need to find yourself a rivian faster charger 👍now that's the good experience.
I knew someone from the team had to own this nice truck. I saw it in the background of one of the newer jstu vids
That is a cool truck
Haven’t seen your vids in a while man, the nostalgia is real lol
You're making a good call Andy! These trucks smash the "Cybertruck" in almost everyway. Hope you enjoy it!
Love the new truck!
Lots of Rivians out here in Northern California. Including myself lol
“ the sun is just so bad today “

That green looks niceee
Awesome Dude, Keep Making Great Videos!
Andrew your my favourite Jstu cast member!
Hey Andrew. Did you get rid of your Ford Bronco? I love that model. Sad to see it go if you sold it
Actually, I still have it 😎
FYI, it looks like you went to a slow charger. In the map, you can filter chargers by charging speed⚡️ ⚡️ ⚡️
Love the video andrew!!
The charging curve starts to drop after 80%... most people don't fast charge past 80
I love these trucks...especially in green! Did you trade the Bronco for this?
Been watching jstu for YEARS! Much love to you and your videos brother, and nice car! But do you want my honest opinion for this video…
The rivian truck is my dads dream car and he’s background is it and it looks like a slipper 😂
Isn't a powered cooler just a fridge?
Love ur mini vlogs
I appreciated the “wow” reference 😂😂😂
I have a pre order for the R1T. I’m concerned if rivian goes out of business do you have any concerns of that?
What happened to the Bronco!?!?!?!
Love the Rivian though!
Cool video all the best seth
Plot Twist: The Rivian in car sleepover was Andrews truck and he wanted to sleep in it
Very Xool!
That's an ac charger aka level 2 those are slow to get a fast charge you go to a DC charger
Man, I have been wanting this truck, ever since I saw it, but you know, its a little ouchie on the pocket books 🤣
They’ve dropped a little, only going for 70 now
@@EastonHB27 aw man, they probably won't drop any lower anytime soon, I can always hope, right? 😁
@@BoysNoiseandToys I know! I would love to have one too but they’d have to get down about another 30k before that would be a realistic option lol
As an RC hobbyist I do not need any more batteries to maintain…
Big difference from the grey dodge Durango 😂
Yo!
Do you still have the bronco?
Yes 😃
Not gonna lie I've only seen one Rivian, I've seen more Lamborghini's then the Rivian 😂😂
I see them everywhere in Indiana
@@EastonHB27 I'm in Canada so... ya lol
The closest place to get one is 1h away other ones are 5+ hours

@@AsX950I seem em everywhere in CA
Love u Andrew
Sir Gary
I thought you had a bronco and a ford pickup and a ram 1500
That was the one Justin used
Nooooo. The bronco. It’s gone
Can I have your old car lol plz I’m a huge fan of the whole JStu crew my favs are the budget overnight challenges and I’d love to be a contestant on a vlog CHECKIN in from MICHIGAN LOVE YOU FAM #JSTU
You dun goof'd. Washing your car through those brushes are going to scratch it
So spensive to buy
nice video
Is that the car that Justin was driving in a video
How long does it take to get a full charge when charging at home?
Like 13 hours and that gives about 80-100 miles. So overnight I don't really have any problems
Bruh... thats just a level 2 charger no preconditioning required. 😅
do you only charge up to 80% to keep the battery heathy?
The batteries charge at a slower rate from 80% - 100% to keep the battery healthy. 0-80 is faster
FYI, the charger wasn't a DC fast charger, so its gonna be slow...;-)
Hi you’re amazing
Any way nice car
Rivian❤
What happened to the Bronco
You’re just scratching the hell out of your car going to a car wash
w Car
Where's the orange Bronco?
Is this the truck from the Jstu vid that Justin got
Thats what i was wondering?
He says it at 7:48
Commented this before I watched that part but thank you

Hi

I cringed badly for driving your truck through a car wash. Maybe it is just me as I wash my car by hand only.

Went from a cool red dodge ram alll the way to an electric pile of crap. 😂
