Regarding what Jews look like, around 25% in the US are not from the diaspora that in recent centuries lived in Europe. In Israel, 70% of the total population is Arab descent - 50% of the Jews are Arab Jews from Arab countries, “indistinguishable” in appearance from Arabs (who themselves vary in appearance). There is also a sizable Ethiopian Jewish community in Israel
I was surprised when the anchor acted like he didn’t look Jewish… I mean I know he isn’t, but I live in Tel Aviv and he could easily pass as Jewish/Israeli… By in large, Americans have a very narrow view of what a Jewish person “looks like”

Milagro, I've been hurting because my Jewish family lost members in the Holocaust, and we spent much of my childhood marching with black friends for civil rights, with the United Farm Workers for better conditions, etc. In high school, I hosted Black-White Dialogues in my home with SDSU students and High school students, while my locker at school was leafletted multiple times by the KKK and the Neo-Nazis. I stood, at first, with BLM, but not after some antisemitic comments. But when all this started I saw very few Black people taking the side of Jewish people or Israel and it pained me. Yours is the first straight out statement I've heard, and it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you. I don't want anyone to die needlessly, but when a group says they want to do away with me and mine, and they write it into their first charter, I believe them. Especially after Oct. 7th, and the polls showing 70% want the same leadership and goals after Oct. 7th. I have to believe they choose to be my enemy. So, when you spoke out, it touched me and I thank you for standing with us.
