I will definitely buy this set! But I will modify the build order and finish the frame and back plate before placing the 1x1s Much more of an experience to see the world map grow in front of you, instead of doing small parts and sticking them together at the end. Not to mention that with their build order you get to see the nice colorful map, then turn it over to finish the bland boring parts. Just finished building my set. Bigger than I expected when it was all put together. Looks incredible though. About 9 hours to build, but in fairly shortly bursts. I did the plates slightly different, and did one colour at a time. Usually starting with white, then dark blue, then randomly usually going in the order 7, 10, 9, 8, 5, 6, 3 and finally 4!
BOSTON - New Red Line trains were spotted on the tracks and in service Wednesday, marking the first time the MBTA has put a new train into service on the line in decades.
Super easy. I build the very occasional (easy) lego kit (the last one I bought in the summer is Lego FRIENDS for 8+ bc its all they had when I was on holiday) but I've built 8 of these. 4 Marilyn Monroes (to make the whole Andy Warhol Popart thing) and the 4 Beatles. I would start off with a Marilyn Monroe one only because of how small it is/quicker to build (and easy colours; I stupidly started with the Beatles ones which were quite hard bc a lot of the bricks were v similar and it was hard to distinguish them from one another). There's 9 base plates for the Marilyn Monroe and Beatles ones that fit together; this one has 40 plates. The main building is the frame etc and the instructions are v clear. The actual map, you're following the instructions and placing dots in the right order on the base plates (for the continent; for the oceans you can freestyle if you want to) really simple.
The first six Red Line cars were delivered from China, where they were manufactured, in October 2019. Future manufacturing will take place in a factory in Springfield. After being unpacked and reviewed, the train sets were in testing for many months. All the testing, however, does not guarantee a perfect transition into service. The new trains on the Orange Line, for example, were removed once because of an issue with door components and again because of a noise later traced to the wear pads at the point where the body of the train connects with the truck. In both cases, MBTA officials said they found ways to adjust the cars and prevent the problem in the future. The last time a new Red Line train entered service was 1994. These new cars are expected to last about 30 years. The MBTA ordered a total of 252 new cars for the Red Line which are slated to all be in use by 2024.

Subjecting the new Red Line and Orange Line trains to a high degree of scrutiny, the MBTA will continue to closely monitor the cars to ensure they are performing at optimum levels. When ridership begins to rebound in the future, new trains and major infrastructure improvements will combine to provide Red Line and Orange Line riders with safe and reliable service for decades.”
