this song grew on me like no other, I think it finally clicked with me when I was on the highway during a storm just blasting it. I just adore how this manages to be one of ST’s heaviest songs AND one of ST’s calmest/most atmospheric songs at the same time. And don’t even get me started on the drums in this song, this just further cements II as an absolute god.

Gave me a good laugh when you said “man…it’s too short.” Longest song they’ve dropped was TMBTE at around 8 min. I haven’t even considered the possibility of them dropping a 12 min+ song but I am ALL for it.

I’ll back you up on that, my man. Vessel definitely has some of the best vocals in the game and that’s a hill I’d happily die on. I cannot get enough of it in its many beautiful, haunting, aggressive forms.
If you like this one, go out of your way to their first full-length album to hear a song called Gods. The Offering, too. Heck, do their whole catalog. I’m positive we’ll show up to watch all of them. 😁

Time to go back catalogue bruv! Blood Sport, Higher, Dark Signs. The new album is for sure the heaviest, but their entire catalogue is fire.
Vore really grew on me, I was not a fan the first few listens (which is rare for me with ST) but now I love it 😆

First time I heard it, I just felt "meh". I've never really been a fan of screaming metal because I just can't understand them.
I watched the lyric video and it hit 100x different. What he is screaming is still as deep and poetic as usual😅
I know little of this type of music but the lighter moments reminded me of Breaking Benjamin.

It has come to light a short video of vessel singing way back about 9 yrs ago ( Winchester Sofar ) my god there is no mistaking this utterly beautiful young man singing, before Sleep Token was formed.The small audience are transfixed by him even then.

Band recommendation - Cave In. They're an underground progressive metal band that sounds like a mix of Tool and Deftones. I'd listen to any song off their newest album, Heavy Pendulum.
I've found that their music follows a line of philosophy. Specifically the Beautiful, the sublime, and the grotesque. If you haven't heard of it, I highly suggest looking it up. The basic gest of it is that beauty, sublime, and the grotesque are all wrapped up together. Their music reflects this.
