I might as well move to one of those places to make an actually serious animated movie, because I doubt any animation company would agree to a serious adult production devoid of much comedy and focuses more on drama. It’s kinda telling the state of theatrical animation, when the most unique big budget Animation company, Pixar, is also one of the oldest and the first to show that cgi can be a serious form of entertainment.
Well, in my opinion this animation film is an exception in Spain, here we don't usually made animation films like that, if someone knows other Spanish film like this I would like him to tell me.

This animation is so incredibly beautiful, that I thought I'd never see the day of its release to the world, and yet 2 years later, here we are. Thank you GKIDStv! Man, how many years has it been since I've watched this masterpiece of an animated film! Still to this day, to me, nothing ever tops this magnum opus.
Why is it that foreign animated films seem to contain far more mature material than most American animated films?
Because animation is seen as an art form in Europe and Japan rather than a children's entertainment.

It will be both - dubbed in the matinees/early shows, and always subtitled starting late afternoon and all evenings.
