if you haven't watched it, yes, you should watch it. its well written with an intriguing plot and somehow everything in this trailer makes sense when you watch the movie. just watch it.
They'd just brought this back to circulation in the US in early 2018 when my friend who's a film student took me down to a little cinema in the Lower East Side of Manhattan to see it. Going in, blind to both the premise and Yuasa's work, I was expecting a more quintessential anime style, but my god, did this surpass my expectations - to this day arguably the best cinematic experience I've ever had - would highly highly highly recommend
Hey! Do you know the age rating? I’m planning on watching this with my sister who’s 15 and loves anime. Also, I’m not crazy about anime, but love colorful movies such as suspiria 1977, phantom of the paradise and the hourglass sanatorium, do you think I would enjoy this film? Have a great day! :)
@@squiggle504 There's some sexual violence in the beginning and some more adult themes towards the third act.. other than that it gets a bit arthousy/abstract. But it's over arching themes of dealing with life's struggles could be interesting for someone in a transitional phase.
i’m an otaku. i watched this stoned as a 15 year old 6 years ago. it made such an impression, i hazily forgot the title, but i’ve been trying to remember it ever since. thank you r/anime for leading me here, finally you’ve made up for your toxic nature.
Took me a while to recall this after watching this as a movie preview at a local indie theater. Looked up psychedelic anime movies and eventually found this, didn't know Masaaki Yuasa was responsible for this!! Not surprised, the art is reminiscent. I really like his style, art and story.
What is to FEEL love? What is to FEEL be loved? What is to FEEL be running? What is to FEEL scared? What is to FEEL sad? What is to FEEL angry? What is to FEEL be dreaming? What is to FEEL happy? What is to FEEL dead? What is to FEEL live? That's Mind Game! FEEL❗FEEL above all, FEEL beyond everything. Thank you, mr. Yuasa, to teach us how to FEEL (you say you have seen many animes?.......you ain't seen NOTHING YET)
I hope it comes to Austin. I would love to support this on the big screen! I reviewed it when it was back on Netflix, and I can't wait to see in theater or buy the DVD
Be careful, there's a really uncomfortable rape scene in the first 25 minutes. Do NOT recommend to watch with your family or friends, dispite the upbeat trailer.
Kade Sullivan it’s awesome! One of my all time fave animated films, let alone anime. Definitely not for the kiddies. It’s much weirder & experimental than his other films & TV show. It doesn’t make much sense in the beginning, but if you pay close attention, all the elements pull together & patience has a huge payoff by the end of the film. It’s really difficult to summarise Mind Games & explain it. It’s just best to go in with an open mind & immerse yourself into the film’s world. I’m really looking forward to it coming out on DVD as I saw a number of years ago & think it’ll be even better seeing it multiple times. And I’d like to introduce my friends to the film!
I have to agree. I walked in The Night is Long, Walk on Girl thinking it was about alcohol.... nope! It left me with more questions and awe. I want to check this one out as well. Cheers!
woah how were you able to watch tatami galaxy? i really wana watch it but subs are too fast for me. id like to admire the art and animation and not just focus on the subs. may i know how you did it?
bigg tarder Lol there’s no specific “way” to watch it. Most people can just read the subtitles as is. It’s a bit hard to admire the art but you can always pause or go back if you miss something. Maybe there’s a dub you could check out?
@@viyetch well I'm more of a reader so I unconsciously focused more on the text rather than the art lol, but not every scene is fast-paced, so maybe you can admire them when they're slowing
One word: No. Many words, its a masaaki yuasa directed film, just look at anything he has ever made, most recently with devilman being his more tame for art craziness level.
no i saw the trailer then i saw the "GKIDS Films" then i commented then waited a few days must of missed 1st reply who replied a month ago then a 2nd witch was you which i actually managed to see a few hours ago =)
This style should be revisited if the creator ever decides to adapt Oyasumi Punpun into a series. It’s perfect
this is something i never knew i wanted until now
Asano Inio and Masaaki Yuasa would make a godly combo
not related I see ur comments a lot lol
@@sarahl9398 I don't know because punpun is drawn in a very realistic style, would be weird even with maasaki yuasa
true

I am about to watch this baked as fuck hahahhahaha

I was lucky enough to watch this when Netflix had it. It was truly an experience. It made us gasp, laugh, question, and enjoy ourselves.
this is the best movie ever made

YAES!
This movie looks like it has more styles than The Amazing World of Gumball! GKIDS always introduces me to something I've never seen before
Okay, who let David Lynch make an anime movie?

This movie and Half Life 2 have the highest honor I can award. They were the sparks that ended two significant bouts of depression.

Studio 4C is selling the film themselves on Blu-Ray and DVD
One of my favorites films, full stop, to this day. Up there with The Seventh Seal of all things.
One of the best pictures in history
underrated
bro i had forgotten about this
DE CUANDO ES ESTA VERGA?
I see devilman's running style in there
Definitely check out the rest of Yuasa's stuff too! It's all pretty good ;)
AHH ME TOOO
this is a total fever dream LOL
This trailer , it's so

Awesome!
good shit
Is this good? I've only watched two of Yuasa's anime, which are Tatami Galaxy and Ping Pong, and I really like both of them. But, is this one good?

This is so weird.
bruh, what i am seeing in the world
I get that some people enjoy this movie, but is it accessible for most open minded people, or just high weirdos?
I´ll say both. I saw it yesterday, watch it and have your opinion. :D
Haha, thanks
it's accessible to anyone interested in it, just like anything.
That doesn't make any scenes if all people enjoy this let them enjoy it
Or David Lynch fans.
looks weird as Hell and so I must watch it! :-)
Пойду ёжика в тумане пересмотрю.
anime deep web, njir🤣.

Yes
Even if he didn't see more than 15 seconds of the trailer he still would've seen the image at 0:13...definitely not for kids.
jesus ppl i know this is not for kids just the company name GKIDS FILMS is a little off that was all.............................
I simply cannot watch animated movies with subtitles; it takes away from the visuals, which is 1/2 the reason why I watch movies in the first place...
