Some cards I found to be really nice for Bob, - Big money package: Well connected(3), black fan, high roller and similar worked extremely well with his statline. Solves his Will problem too. - Haste helps Bob in pretty much everything. More Play actions (which include his bonus action), investigate actions, fight actions, and any activate arrows are all very good. - Burglary(2) can gather quite a few resources. - Payday is a solid generator, since him playing an item is still an item. - The fool tarot card adds an extra discount on all the cards you play. - Council’s coffer: Gives you something to sink your free time on in multiplayer. Especially in big money deck, where getting “more” from your actions can be difficult.
I am surprised none of you mentioned Short Supply throughout the video. If you wanna do any combination of Scavenging/Joey the Rat and even other cards like Winging It, that card is just a must have.
I wasn’t a fan of Lockpicks with (big money) Bob, at least on standard. Once I got The Black Fan and well connected(3) in the deck Lockpicks would always feel like a dead draw, even if I got Lockpicks first. The other investigate assets felt better if I didn’t want to prepare a weapon. His statline lends himself really well to these big money boosts, to where you can just brute force any important test with your money. I always found it much better to have the other hand slot open for a 1hand weapon, even though I was hanging out with a Mark Harrigan who was doing good in combat.

Question about Bob, is his ability to take an extra action to play an item limited to once per round?

You've given me something to think about, whether Lockpicks become unnecessary with enough other intellect boosts. Good thoughts!
Can Bob use his special ability to play an asset from his own hand?
Yes.
Superb 👍
