To Moorer's credit he stood in front of Big George the entire fight and fought him

Yup. Even in the post fight interview, Foreman said Moorer should have never stood in front of him

To his credit and his detriment. Not a very smart game plan and it cost him dearly.

Any time, and every time a Brit goes over to the States to challenge an American champion, Lloyd Honeyghan beating Curry is brought up. It's the rosetta stone of upsets.
Another great example from the same era is Kirkland Laing beating Roberto Duran

That Tszyu fight wasn't that surprising. He was still very young and developing, and Phillips was a real pro. Great fight.

    • @juliohernandez3323

Also Phillips brought the fight to Tzyu. Tzyu had trouble with aggressive fighters.

I was surprised! I remember watching it live on HBO. Tszyu was being touted for a while and I had only seen him fight a couple of times. He NEVER kept his hands up or brought them back after throwing punches! But still thought he would beat Phillips as the troubles with drugs he had had and inactivity. I liked Tszyu, but I was also thrilled for Vince

At the time there was talk Ali lost to Spinks on purpose so he could win the rematch to become the first three time world HW champion. It's possible Spinks just surprised Ali with his solid chin and aggressive fighting. Another rumor was Spinks' insane stamina was because of stimulants.

Manny Pacquiao vs Jeff Horn should've been on here 😅
I know I know, Pacquiao got robbed I get it (I believe Manny should've gotten the decision as well), but the fact that Pacquiao DIDN'T stop Horn (like he should've being an all-time great and all). Pacquiao deserves to be on this list losing to a fighter like Jeff Horn.

I remember all of these. Even Ali vs Spinks. I was young but Ali was larger than life in the 70's! I remember seeing the Sports Illustrated in my Uncles bedroom. Leon with that gap tooth grin! Donald Curry is my all time favorite fighter, and although Lloyd beat him fair and square I still maintain that if they had fought 6 months earlier Donald wins. Maybe not by KO, Honeyghan was tough, but Curry was drained and shouldnt have stayed at 147 after McCrory really. If you see the entire fight he is almost carried to the ring he is so weakened. I do not mean to take anything from his victory, Curry signed and made weight, but even in his diminished stated he nailed Lloyd several times. A prime Curry wins. I watched Foreman regain the title with my Father. He has been gone 21 years and some of my finest memories are watching boxing with him.

Tommy was hungover and still Bennt was fortunate that wild right hand that he threw springing off the ropes landed flush on the chin of the duke. Bennt deserves credit though regardless. Thats why u shouldn't have to have to be picked up off the floor by your trainers and carried out of the bar the night before u defend your heavyweight crown. That really happened. But Tommy was hungover in atleast 20 of his 52 fights. Still he was 49-3-1
