Ik you didn't ask, but I bought garlic bread today for the first time in YEARS. It was one of my favourite foods, and I'm equal parts excited and nervous. I thought that if anyone should know, it's you, the Garlic Bread Queen herself 🥖👸🏼☺️
Thanks for giving me the courage to try my favourite foods again xxx

I completely agree about the need to rewire and eat without restriction, regardless of weight. Especially for those of us who had chronic restrictive EDs, it can take longer for our body to fully rewire. After 20 times in treatment, the only way I found that works is to keep eating through it.

especially because when you’re in and out of treatment so often, your weight usually fluctuates from underweight to normal or even overweight. if you leave treatment at a healthy weight but relapse, you shouldn’t wait until you’re underweight again to try recovery again. that’s just absurd it makes no sense. if you had any other illness that could kill you, would you wait until you’re on your deathbed again to try to get better or would you try to prevent that? why wait for labs and weight and everything else to be deadly? at that point it’s even more difficult to get better because you’re often in much deeper cus you delayed treatment and the medical side is a bit more difficult to treat due to complications. if you wait, it could very well be too late to fully recover and not have any life long complications like infertility, gastroparesis, teeth falling out, osteoporosis, and all sorts of other things. some people fully recover but need a tube or ostomy bag because their body can’t absorb nutrients correctly or parts of the gi tract die and must be removed. even if those complications never happen, why wait to live your life and recover? getting so severely ill you’re on your death bed before you try to get your life back together makes no sense when you can start recovery right now.

Hey there, you are 100% not alone in this and from a biological perspective it is actually a REALLY smart response for an energy deprived body to place eating above sleeping in its hierarchy of needs. I absolutely remember being in this place and encourage you to continue listening to your brilliant body :) Sending love! xx

@@dancingpixie74sb sending love xo I've never experienced "extreme hunger" unfortunately lol I have almost zero hunger signals outside of mental hunger. Learning to honour that and realize that laying in bed at night thinking about food is hunger! I would encourage you to take advantage of the hunger you have, honour it and follow it. I long to feel hunger! Remember that the reason you're fixated on food and eating is because that's what your brain/body knows you need!

Thank you so very much for this. This resonates so much for me. I gained weight due to a miracle pregnancy but I never did the rewiring and I've been stuck in quasi recovery for 5 long years. I'm about a week into all in recovery and I'm terrified but following the course! Over 30 years of ED and I've only allowed myself to get to a certain point before I turn back. Not this time!!

What an excellent Q&A! The conversation about rewiring at a higher weight really resonated with me and made me feel so seen and validated. Loved Becky's use of analogies throughout the video as well, it really helped me view some aspects of my own recovery from a new perspective! Thank you both for the amazing work you do ❤
