For me personally it’s worth it as you can use it in other parks as well. To be honest it’s definitely necessary in Japan as they have note block rock, bombom kaboom room and the slot machine where Hollywood is quite small in comparison.
I went last Friday and got a Mario band. I lost it by the end of the day because the bracelet part is horrible. I had to report it to Lost & Found. They miraculously found my band and returned it to me by mail. Just wish the band was like the Disneyland Magic Bands. Those are more like a regular watch band that clips on.
Exactly my thoughts yesterday March 15th 2023 we went with my sister, I got the yoshi band and she got the toad band and yes I see how easily you could lose it. :(
I got the gold Mario power up band at USJ. It was totally worth it. Truly that's the way the park was designed to be accessed, otherwise you're just waiting in lines for the rides or spending money at the shops. I wish I had more time; after collecting the keys the park was closing and I didn't have an opportunity to go to Bowser Jr. My timed entry to Nintendo World was at 5pm, so two hours is definitely not enough time to visit the area.
It’s not necessary but it does enhance your experience. Without the band SNW is still a great but with it you’re even more immersed as you’re going around looking for clues and solving puzzles, like the game
Would someone be able to do the Boss Battle (the one at 2:20 in this video) if they didn't have a power up band? I don't mean the part about earning the key, but could you do anything physically to just have fun? We bought power up bands at preview last weekend, but the line for the battle was too long, and one of my friends is asking what things they couldn't do if they didn't buy a band
The Bowser Jr. Boss Battle has a scanner at the front of the attraction where guests tap their power-up bands. If you’ve completed all 3 it will grant you entry. However, if you don’t have a band or haven’t completed all the tasks, ask the Team Member at the front of the experience if you can enter anyway. Depending on space you may be able to
In Hollywood, yes you can enter without a power-up band. In Osaka, the app states that you'll need the band only for the key challenges, and as fo the Mario Kart attraction, it doesn't say anything about it so my guess is that yes, the band won't be a requirement to enter :)
How much time do you need to spend at the SNW land to complete all these mini games and the final Bowser Jr one? We're going for the first and probably only time to Universal Studios Hollywood and need to visit the whole park, so I want to know if doing all these additional stuff will take me an hour or four. Thanks!
It depends how busy it is. Sometimes there’s a 20-30 min wait for the mini games. Sometimes it’s 5 min. So if that’s a priority you may want to tackle those first as the land gets busier as the day goes
@DavidVaughn Thanks. We're going on a Wednesday in early March when apparently it won't be that crowded. And we got the early access and the universal express pass. So do you think we could do all the power band stuff plus visit all the big rides in the other lands in just the one day?
If you’re getting there at open, 2-3 hours. Later in the day could take a while longer if you’re going on a busier day and doing all of the activities. I’ve spent half a day in there before though. It just depends if you’re doing everything or not
Can you share a band? Everyone take turns with one band? Will they let your whole group into Bowser? Also do you have to complete the challenge in one day? We are going for two days
I would totally get one once Epic Universe opens, it reminds me of the interactive wands in the Wizarding World, I've always had one rule going to the Universal Parks, if you're not gonna immerse yourself in Super Nintendo World or the Wizarding World, then that's not a perfect day at Universal.
Geez, you already pay a high price for admission and potentially an extra $30 if you get Early Access. Besides you'll most likely buy merch. That should be enough for you to get 100% of the experience, having to pay an extra $40 for this wrist band is ridiculous.
The good part is the bands do work in Japan too. And the bands are cheaper in Japan because of the exchange rate. Finally, Mario World in Japan is bigger than the one here. The kart ride is longer too with better AR hats.
@@onmas909 actually they do have Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong bands now to go with that new DK Jungle area. But yeah a lot of people are still arguing why they don’t have a Wario, Waluigi, Rosalina, or Bowser band yet. If you ask me I think eventually we will have them. So we can at least have a band for every major character in the Mario universe.
I'm so glad i looked this up before i went, i for one won't be getting the bands. Just doesn't seem worth it. I thought the coins would be redeemable, i mean at least like a discount in shops and dining areas. Like a 1, 2 or 5% one time discount for high scorers. How much of loss financially would that be, to not even offer something like that.
Can we connect more than one band to the app? For example, as a family of 4 with two kids who don’t have their own phones, can we connect their bands to my app as well?
Just went to universal studios. To see Mario world. I think the power up band is an interesting idea but once you leave the area it’s useless. So I just bought a t shirt and toadstool 🍄 hat for souvenirs.
3 hours? I think you’re severely underestimating it.. We spent over 8 hours in there, lol. My son was like a kid in a candy store and I had a blast reliving nostalgic childhood memories. The bands are totally worth it given how much money most people are already spending on tickets, flights and hotels assuming they’re on vacation, etc. What’s an extra $40 on top of 2k? But I only have one kid.. 3 definitely puts more of a strain on your budget.
Yes!! It would be great if you could redeem, points for physical Super NINTENDO World items. Like other places do exchange tickets for prices.
You already have to pay admission to the park and then have to pay another $40 for the wristband. That is not cool, in my opinion.
Yeah at that point it gets pricier than even Disney

Aww jealous you got the gold one! Wish they did that in Hollywood or had a way to buy them online.

Does this band work in Universal Japan?
The good part is the bands do work in Japan too. And the bands are cheaper in Japan because of the exchange rate. Finally, Mario World in Japan is bigger than the one here. The kart ride is longer too with better AR hats.
Can my family link multiple wristbands with just one phone and one app?
You can link multiple accounts per app! Me and my little sister both only use my phone, each band chooses their own player name, pose, and background
Definitely a Mario Band. Wish they had a Bowser one
not having a Bowser band is a crime
I was hoping for a Waluigi or Donkey Kong one

Does anyone know if these are reusable.
By that I mean can I give/sell/loan my used power up band and someone else sync it to their app and use it?
Yes I watched another video and she said she borrowed a friend’s band who had been before.
Do I need the app for the power up band to work?
yes

What are the digit coins useful for?
They have no use
Do you know if people are re-selling their bands? I guess it depends on whether it's re-programmable to a new account/profile?
I haven’t heard of anyone reselling their old one. But you can unlink it from your account
Can we connect more than one band to the app? For example, as a family of 4 with two kids who don’t have their own phones, can we connect their bands to my app as well?
Yes you can. Scan the bands to the one phone and set your character.
Peach of course! Going Saturday!!!❤
Daisy for me
When it opens on the Grand opening will the Power-Bands get cheaper?
I don’t think so. I think that’s just the price
I have the gold one ($54)
40 bucks though.
I'd either get Yoshi or Toad
Did you guys know that there is a golden power up band as an exclusive.
It looks so cool! That came out after I made this video
I’m gonna get the Yoshi one.
Jason wants that one, too!
@@DavidVaughn I wish they had some with the bad guys too. 😆
@@chrissyfloydwe need waluigi
I’m getting the Luigi band I mean it is obvious since I am a huge fan of Luigi
I thought you were going to say: since I’m the little brother 😅
