Absolutely phenomenal performance from this musical genius, Angelina is paying tribute to the original artist Screaming J Hawkins a blues musician from the 1950s, Angelina actually arranged this herself yes herself at 9 years old, Angelina is commanding the performance she is the boss,great reaction thanks 🙏

Angelina has always decided WHAT and HOW she wants to sing! A few times her mother Sara has objected to texts. Then Angelina rewrites the text so that it is more appropriate for a little girl. You should know that Angelina is doing what she loves to do. No pressure from parents and others, just reach the goals she sets herself. The family is well ordered so that part is already done!
Thanks for your reaction. Angelina is unique. Trying to apply normal rules just won't work. She taught herself to sing. Angelina begin getting musical training at age 4 but her teachers were smart enough not to do anything with her singing. Musicians who worked with Angelina, starting with age 7, lovingly called her 'the boss' because she knew how she wanted to sing the song and her choices were the work of a genius. I truly believe you will come to understand all this and more, when you react to more of Angelina.

Angelina 9 yo. Look at her! She controls the entire recording. She has the power and ability to carry this out. The fact that she then has an outstanding fantastic voice and theatrical body language only makes everything even better. The musicians are also amazingly good. They give everything to complete this masterpiece! This little Norwegian girl reads the English lyrics while singing! She is from Norway and they speak Norwegian there. English is Angelina's 3rd language! Already at 5-6 years old, she understands exactly what is meant in the English lyrics! Incredible!

At the beginning you see her something writing on a sheet and a man reading it and smiles than.. in an interview this man, who was the "bandleader", said, this were some "wishes" from Angelina (she was every time very polite he said) for changes of her arrangement for the piano 😃
The candle you can see at about 0:12 shows a portrait of J. Hawkins - I think her grandma bought it at a concert in Tokyo ;)
At 0:26 you can see the bassist smiling - I can imagine that he smiles about the expectable reactions of the listeners in the moment, when Angelina starts to sing at 0:30 😏
Btw. I read somewhere that her grandma was in person at a concert of SJH in Japan (as she, AJs mother and uncle lived there some years - AJs grandpa is Japanese) and there AJs grandma bought this candle as a souvenir ;)

In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield").

Angelina was 9 years old in this performance - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the vocal arrangement based on listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version and communicated to the band how she wanted it to be played - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes and it is read by the bandleader. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. For more insight into how Angelina works, here is a rehearsal video with some of the same band members at the same age (9 yrs old) - You will see that she is aware of what each musician is doing and communicates to them what she wants to do. The first thing she says is that she wants to start, followed by her saying she wants to start over, later she tells the pianist that the key is too low and that she wants to raise it a half-tone, then at the end of the song she changes the ending on the fly.
