I also play The Cryptonaturalist, which is a very sweet, quirky poetry focused fiction podcast about a cryptonaturalist and his faithful sentient RV, Cassandra, and the creatures they encounter. "We're all strange animals. So, act like it!"

Oh Becky, you *will* watch Bluey when Henry is a little older, and you'll love it. I may be biased because I'm Australian, but it is an amazing show, and it's one of those rare kids shows that adults can enjoy as much as the kids.
For Becky - there are so many “bedtime story” type podcasts on Spotify for kids! (Although it would be adorable to let him listen to stories in Grandma’s voice!)
My mom threw a pumpkin into our front garden/bush area last year and we grew 1 singular pumpkin. He was the most exciting part of my fall 😂
From becky listening to albums repetitively and the crossword segment i feel like you did this episode just for me which is so thoughtful ✨

I’m from North Dakota and my grandma is a thriving 93 year old. Her mom was 95 or 96 when she died. I think the family/community aspect is very important as my grandma had 10 kids who now all help her.
I think this is also an example of how big a role genetics plays. Best wishes to your grandma 🌞
Chaotic gardening sounds really fun
In terms of podcasts for kids/ just having voices talk in the background: there are episodes from the podcasts "Ologies" called "Smallogies" that are shorter and have no swears. An episode surrounds the host talking to an expert or "-ologist" on a certain topic/subject they're an expert on. It's also super informative for adults too :)
I would 100% listen to a bluey episode! That show is incredible!

for becky, there's a youtube channel that records readings of children books, you could play those for the baby! most of them do voices of the different characters and everything! the kids i nanny love them

When I’m sad I listen to The Middle by Jimmy Eat World and it snaps me out of any slump! It began when I was a sad girl in college suffering through seasonal depression and midterms and the semesters that felt like they would never end! And now I’m 28 and a new mom and it still does the trick for me!

My great gram just passed away a couple weeks ago one day before her 102nd birthday. She was the first of 13 and outlived most of her siblings.
She read and exercised everyday, kept journals throughout her whole life and had so many friends that she continued to talk to and visit up until her last days.
Praying my downfall comes way sooner 🤪

Little stories for tiny people is a great story telling audio on Spotify. Some are good for sleep and some are really good stories for day to day
My first date with my husband we excitedly talked about how we plan to overdose on lots of fun drugs when we're old enough (but not too old. For example, I will not let my children see me forget them). Life is hard, y'all and we're doing great personally but at what cost? All of our personal childhood traumas, hard relationships, grief, war, climate change, genocide, poverty everywhere, the continued rise of Nazism? We have only ever worked in public service jobs, do volunteer work, donate money - try the best we can, but why would I keep this going for soooo long? Ughhh

In the state of VT, you can go to any farmers market and spend your EBT (foodstamps), each dollar of foodstamps counts for 2$. Its at least something to try to make it more accessible to low income people. Foodstamps are also pretty easy to qualify for, plus several great govt programs for people with babies and kids.

My great grandma's were 94 ( died of an annuresism) and 96 (after two strokes, and multiple heart attacks) they both lived in WISCONSIN?! my dad's mom (my grandma barely made it to 93, and like 5 years of hell... my mom's mom... died of an annuresism at 67... grandpa is 85 and done with it.... I don't know what I want... bit living alone is the hardest thing a person can go through.... community is everything!
I play the NYT games daily so this was a fun surprise

I garden almost exclusively in containers (i do have in ground strawberries, though), if you buy a bigger container with only one drainage hole and don't put it on the ground, so more along the lines of pavement or wood, then the mint stays contained to the one container! It does resprout every year too, which is so fun!
And as far as bringing plants into the shower, I have a fern that I do that with; it used to come with me and i'd give it a quick onceover in the morning. now I just spray its leaves with water every day. Avocado's really need a lot of sun, though, so if Rainie has a south facing window she can put it there.
Edit: I play all the NYTs games in the morning,a nd spelling bee throughout the day so it was fun to watch you guys solve it!

Hi, I´m from Costa Rica, many people that were born in 1930 are still alive, and I think the reasons are that family is super important, we are always celebrating with family, second we have a kind of good health system that is public, third we ate beans and rice almost on every meal, especially people that live on the periphery, fourth I had a great uncle who live to a 100, he drive until he was 94 and he wake up at 5:30 am to go work in a little plot of land to grow plants and be active, fifth we can almost grow anything all year around is really good having access to fruit and veggies all the time, and farmer markets are really the most accesible. obviously things like fast food and sitting jobs and that type of lifetime is reducing our dying age, but I love it here.
in relation to children’s podcast: theres yoto's for kids where you can get cards which are educational!

I definitely don't want to live forever or even to 100. Long life does not equal quality life. The generation before lived to their late 70's and early 80's. Their health didn't severely decline until the last 1-2 years of their life. I do jigsaw puzzles to try to keep my mind sharp. My sad songs are Hurt - Johnny Cash and The Rose - Bette Midler.

i know it's a complicated topic but the least you could do is urge your audience to call for a ceasefire from their governments and boycotts and to encourage going to peaceful protests.. idk its def upsetting considering how big the tryguys are and i don't wanna put all the pressure on ycswu but it would be nice to know where second try stands...you've never stayed quiet before..
