Castle band dad here - the semistate penalty was a placement error for the conductor's podium in the left rear corner. While that was a disappointment - this band did march in the Tournament of Roses 2024 Parade - not a bad conclusion to the season.
the theme of echo was in the music instead of visuals. the first piece was the initial sound, the sound of silence as the space between the initial sound and the echo, and then the last piece is very similar to the first, so that's the echo. This show is amazing, even though the visuals are lacking, i think the music makes up for that.
Definitely an underrated show by far. Definitely improved from the really impressive show at the central invitational. The best band in my area rn.

Castle isn't a super good visual school, we're a music school; our visuals are getting better by the year
@JoeSchnutz Castle doesn't do new uniforms each year. It's not uncommon for bands to do something like this
Average "didn't come from a good band person" moment
we dont get new uniforms every year and the uniforms really suited our 2021 and 2022 shows but visual is not always our strong suit.
