Cambodia is friendly and safe. I been there 2 times. Awesome place to visit. You got to get the Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat and the other hundred temples around it. Blow your mind

Ive been to Philippines many times and even with the machine guns ive never felt unsafe. Just never make anyone 'lose face' or dance around flaunting you have money and they dont and you be sweet. The guards with the pump actions are actually super polite and helpful if you ask for directions etc. Prance like a show pony and some one nasty will be watching.
They use KHR and USD in Cambodia. There’s cheaper options, but $18 is about right for a private taxi. Takes about half an hour, closer to an hour during peak times.

I was in Cambodia almost 25 years ago, the Khmer Rouge were still active outside of the cities. And despite all the warnings back then, I was made to feel so welcome and the people were beautiful!
I watched many vlogs about the slum and poor area of the Philippines, one thing I can say these people may be poor from wealth but when it comes to happiness, humbleness, hospitality and respect they are the bes. I have t been to many western countries many rich places that are worse than these poor areas of the Philippines.
Dubai airport is mental especially when super sleep deprived. Don't wish to do that again. Enjoy Cambodia 👍 Don't forget to pick up a Cambodian soccer jersey.

Mate, you'll love Phnom Penh. It's no more dangerous than Sydney but snatch and grabs from bikes are common so watch your camera / phone when near the street / in a tuk tuk. Of course you'll go to Phsar Thmei / Central Market but check out the markets where the locals shop too - Phsar Chas / Old Market or Phsar Kandal. Wander along the riverside before the sun comes up and through the parks near Wat Botum and Independence Monument in the evening to watch the locals exercising and hanging out. Khmer are the friendliest people you'll meet. Enjoy!
I just leave cambodia, there are a lot of tourists in tourist areas, the food is good good, you just need to keep an open mind. I traveled across the entire country, through tourist areas and remote villages. I felt safe at all times
