For crying out loud, if y'all want shadownerf Steve, at least put Lylat and Yoshi's story on the ruleset with DSR, it's by far his worst stages but people aren't even trying. Both stages works perfectly fine, Lylat was patche d eons ago and many didn't even noticed

@@erickalvarez6486even if they're banned every time you need them in the rule set so that you can still go to smashville or town if you want smaller side blast zones. Currently you just have 6 stages with giant sides and 2 with smaller sides that they can just ban.
Midgar could be a nice alternate “battlefield”. Mostly because it nerfs Steve since he mines the same materials as in lylat (mostly iron)
Even cooler would be that I love Midgar as an FFVII fan. It’d be cool to play on it

I’m super excited for this stage selection change! I think it’ll be enough of a change to freshen up the meta AND everyone WILL hate it at first but I can already hear everyone enjoying the game again after a couple months of that. Also I think everyone hates small because of elite smash. Like guys we have to move on from that already and play 2024 smash

I think it would have been nice if you also took a look at the explanations and data that were given when discussing the new na unified ruleset. Stuff like PS2 being by far the biggest stage in the ruleset with the lowest approval rating makes the decisions make a lot more sense
This makes it immediately apparent why TO's make the rules, and not top players.
You don't balance a ruleset for the best players in the world, you need to consider the scene as a whole.
We need to rename PS2, Campers Paradise, then maybe people will stop blindly going there.
I think best of 5 is better for competitors, but not so good for spectators, especially in a campy meta. And 7 minutes per game, if it could at least change that... half hour sets all the time its hard

I really think ultimate needs a player like Zain. I only play melee but like watching top ultimate.
Both you guys mental seems pretty good but Zain has turned match ups on thier head as well as utilizing the fact that part of smash is vs the player aslo(not just tilting people).
There was no reason to ban jiggs in melee, i really understand beo and even moreso steve are clearly broken but to see people consistently beat those characters after someone proves that its possible is so cathartic and amazing to watch.

Why do I steamroll top Steves on the regular but y'all seem to think he's that good？Literally just play lame. What is he going to do? Mine for diamond he shouldn't be hitting you with anyway because you shouldn't be literally running into it all the time? Watch people literally roll into uptilt in neutral and then go "sTeVe Is BuStEd" and it's like bro... you did that to yourself though. Y'all cappin hard af. Get a bit of damage, circle camp to waste his resources, repeat. Literally that simple. What are you going to just stand under that telegraphed anvil. You gonna jump forward instead of in place and get fair'd because they minecarted? Most of y'alls Steve problems are your own fault. Real talk.
Maybe they should just play a modded version of Smash Ult that reworks Steve’s cooldowns and stuff, idk tho

People want to ban Steve. Sure ban him for a little bit but remember they tried to ban MK in Brawl, they tried to ban Bayo during the end of 4, and they never banned fox in melee or pikachu in 64.
Steve is still fairly new compared to the rest of the cast. Just give it time and he’ll eventually become more predictable.

My take on this is simple. Don’t ban him, because we didn’t ban meta knight. Who in my opinion in brawl. Was a more centralized character than Steve. That, and the rankings proved it. We only have 1 player in the top 10 who mains steve (2 if you count miya). While meta knight. 7-8 of the top 10 all used meta knight. And, another thing. People like, miya, sparg0, sonix. All can beat Acola, the best steve in the world. And the point if “Oh any random steve player can beat top players” is a bit dumb, but I get the argument. At the same time, these steve players in tournaments are there for a reason. They are good, and Mkleo against the steve in Kagirabi is bullshit in my opinion. I say this as a steve defender. But Kazuya can do the same thing, and sonix but on a much slower scale. I just don’t see why Steve should be banned in high level tournaments. When he’s not the most centralized character in the game, can be beaten by other top players. Aside from being boring to watch. I see no other reason to ban him, and if you think a character should be banned because they’re boring. Then deal with it, these tournaments are for money. You would do the same thing if a huge cash prize was on the line.

They’re done updating the game. Won’t happen
If they do it once, people will likely continue to ask for patches for the next character and then the next one.
Also, it would cost extra money because the game was developed by a studio from another company (Bandai-Namco), so they would need to create a new contract to implement a patch that wasn't part of the original agreement.
