Bread -maker bread pans most often have a weakness: the paddle-spindle and the bearings that hold it may not be of sufficiently rust-proof steel. They exist in a hot, humid environment, when the oven is baking. After of couple of years they may rust and freeze-up. You must then buy another pan. They are expensive, often half the price you paid for the machine. For this reason, I use the bread-maker to knead the dough under the control of its computer, but before the final rise and bake, I remove the dough-ball from the machine, genlty roll it into a loaf and place it in a lightly oiled loaf pan external to the machine. I let it rise in the oven (even an oven/broiler is adequate) . After about an hour's rise, I bake it at about 350-375F for 40 to 45 minutes. I get a nice loaf of bread, and my bread-maker pan does not rust at the spindle. Many years ago, I had a Black & Decker (made in USA) bread machine. Its bread-pan lasted 20 years without rusting. Today's machines are made from lower quality materials, in my opinion.
