How can you build in the wetlands????? Is crazy!!! How can people expect free housing where ever? Many have homes in the Eastern Cape or other places.

Illegal settlements will always be a high risk situation for their occupants. The basic studies of terrain and suitability have not been done and no infrastructure in terms of water, sewage, roads is present which leads to unsanitary living conditions. Over and above these problems it is basically land theft and really really stupid to build dwellings on flood plains and then cry when you get washed out. The lack of clear planned access also hinders help when it is needed. These illegal residents need to wake up to the reality of what is needed in a township and do things the right way or accept the consequences of their actions!

People can not just move to Cape Town from other places, without having a proper job,and a house to live in and money to afford a house. If you didn't have a job where you came from, you won't be able to find a job,and won't be able to survive in Cape Town. There must be some influx control.

Employing illegal immigrants in WC doesn't help. So businesses are contributing a lot to this problem because now illegal immigrants are being brought to WC for employment reasons as well. Controlling the borders is the only solution. #Abahambe
