It's a new generation. We should be grateful that classic music like this is being reintroduced to young people through video games. People may have never seen the movie or heard the song, but Overwatch and RDR2 has brought this song to their attention for the first time
Lucy Jackson Hey, I’m not complaining. I’m a teen and was just surprised that there seems to be more of us listening and commenting on this song than the people who I had expected to, for something referencing Eastwood’s movies so heavily. I’ve never played those games, but I do love Eastwood’s movies. Either way, this is a good song and enjoying it through the games is just as valid as enjoying it because of the movies. It’s art and can be enjoyed by everyone.
Growing Wild true but I don’t think the heavy horses are an old band, it’s just for a lot of young people all country is old, I can admit I’m a little guilty of that. But there are still bands like this doing old school style country and other genres, and having songs in video games nowadays is as good as having them in a movie soundtrack, maybe more depending on how they use it in game, since it’s more interactive it sticks with you more. I’m all for it, I plain just didn’t like country, but then I watched an over watch cinematic and my brain went “yes yes yes. This. I want me some more of this”. The other moment I had with country was finding out The Merkins and listening to their Leatherface stuff, check em out of you like horror movies and great parodies
