There are thousands of our own who are homeless, who helps them.
Many of these people worked with our army in Afghanistan. They are our people now, we promised them.

If I recall. The British were there in afgan to assist with skills training to defend their own country. Army was there longer than necessary and when they left the afgan didn't even make a stand.

@xsentfromuk8938 I'm not sure how someone gets in to those circumstances maybe if they were not working full time in a high cost of living area. I don't even work 4 days a week and I can still afford to live okay on £11 per hour or so.
I also don't understand how your final point about immigrants is relevant and it just seems like an impulsive thought to highlight how devided you want people to be.

My partner worked in a hotel full of Afghan translators, but was sacked as it was too dangerous for lone females, but whilst she was there she said they were using the corridors and lifts as toilets, would smoke in the rooms, and always complained about the benefits were not enough and moaned about having to wait for their free house
But the best was most needed a translator as they couldn't speak English

That the NHS workers they hire from abroad comes with 10 of their family members, making the Housing and NHS situation worse.
1. They need to provide accommodations for them
2. They have to provide NHS care adding more pressure and waiting list in the NHS.
NHS staff that come from abroad have to pay NHS surge charge to access NHS services. Accommodation provided to them is only for the NHS staff and if or when they bring their family over they have to find their own accommodation .

They're in hotels because there isn't enough housing, there isn't enough housing because the population has been increasing exponentially since 1997. The availability of rental properties are drying up due to Serco housing migrants in them, the hotels are overflowing and soon the barges and military bases will also be. Council's such as Shropshire and Cambridgeshire can buy up £600,000 houses for them, but spending tax payer money and removing more houses from the housing supply will only go so far with the average joe. The question is what next? When Britain runs out of places to put these people what next?

They were refusing to leave the hotels as it was more profitable than moving into private accommodation.

There's an Indian man who owns the Brittania hotels making 120 grand a day.
If the council offers you a property and you refuse it without providing a valid reason, they will discharge you from the duty to of care. You will then be asked to vacate the temporary accommodation. This is the case with not just refugees but British citizens also in temporary accommodation.
Yes, they'll say you're choosing to be homeless, even if the place they offer you is over 100 miles away.

Government should pay enough for this job to see British employees in NHS. Secondary, borders should be closed for illegal migration process. And last but not least, government should really know how to keep the balance between what they can provide to legal migrants, needs of British economy, and social benefits to the own people.

I simply dont know why they expect 'an offer' of accommodation to be provided? Whilst in Temporary Accommodation, every family/individual should be searching and calling agent hourly to secure 'their own' accommodation. Supply is reducing and demand is massively increasing, so the dream of a 'perfect offer' does not exist.
Sadly at 1k pm for a bedsit and rent benefits capped to half that by councils there is no accommodation for anyone on benefits or the minimum wage.
Government made homelessness worse through the capping off how much they would pay towards rents in benefit.
They infact put more pressure onto social housing as private rent is high and benefits not welcome. Owners don't want to risk the shortfall in rent so discrimination to low earners or benefits
They should be deported to Afghanistan.
And face the Taliban

There are loads of properties in areas such a Liverpool that are derelict, so why doesn’t the government renovate those empty homes instead of putting them up in hotels

When I trained to be a nurse, there were only two British people on the entire course. British people weren't interested in that job and it's a myth that they magically might be.

The same applies to everyone, refuse an offer of accommodation and the council have discharged their duty to the individual. If they have been granted refugee status it's up to them to get on with it like the rest of us.

The complete mystery here is why some Charities such as the well respected RNLI got involved in this when it was very clearly a Government Issue to deploy the Border Force which is a Government Agency to deal with this issue of small boats arriving at UK shores

We should remember that British soldiers died trying to make Afghanistan a decent place to live in for all - including women and girls. As far as I know there was no undertaking at the time to take in huge numbers of Afghans if our good intentions failed.
