I have to admit that I am prejudiced at new homes as they are neither situated in good locations nor proportional in every aspect especially the configuration, the flow and more importantly the room size.... say dark WC and miniature bedrooms are already a 'Norm'. Some so called freeholds are actually leasehold alike due to no cap of maintenance charges which don't even exist in the older builds, as all unused spaces in within the older plots are maintained by council while the new homes all landlords in within their residential dwellings are obligated to take care of the whole plot. The so called warranty is STC which restricts buyers acting like a tenant of some kinds. I don't even bother myself to check out those ads....
It is very unlikely that the developer will do it for you for reasons that 鬆仔 has mentioned in the video. You will have to find a builder yourself to do it. But that means that you will have to have the necessary knowledge and experience to supervise such a project. Or you can employ someone who has such qualifications to oversee the project for you.
The addition of such metal gating will be in breach of fire regulations but no one will know that you have installed such a feature unless you are reported. On the other hand, it is unlikely that you will find someone who can fit such gating and even if you find one, it will be very expensive. It will be cheaper if you change the whole window to a more secure one. Please note that the glass is not a normal pane of glass. They are "safety" glass. In most cases, the weakest part is the frame depending on the cost, i.e. don't just go for the cheapest supplier. Do spend more time on your research.

對新樓來講,你地下加建浴室,發展商一定唔批,亦都唔會幫你搞,如果你自己搵人搞,你就失去發展商給予你的Warranty
