- Saab was demonstrating the CB90 NG during DSEI 2021 in London. Naval News talked to Anders Hellman, head of business unit Docksta, and Gustav Kjellberg, FMV (Swedish defence procurement agency) to learn what is new in this "NG" variant as well as the capabilities of the CB90 NG.
=====================
This CB90 Next Generation (CB90 NG) features new capabilities as well as many of the features that the original CB90 is famous for. Designed to swiftly transport marines and other forces, CB90 is renowned for the ease by which troops can rapidly get on-shore and depart again, be it a beach or an awkward, elevated rocky shore. CB90 NG builds on that capability and, depending on the mission, can take on different roles in the sensor and combat chain. CB90 NG includes a new combat management system and sensors for surveillance, ballistic protection, as well as further improved stealth, manoeuvrability and speed. By providing amphibious forces with multi-mission capabilities, CB90 NG is an even more potent means by which to project force from the sea.
The CB90 NG present at DSEI 2021 was recently delivered to the Swedish Navy, with the designation Docksta CB 90HSM.

Here in Mexico CB90s do a great job as Polaris-class interceptor pattrol boats. A good platform agains pirates and narcos.
Must be just perfect for that kind of operations 👍
There's bloody Vikings on the Thames!
Been a while since anyone said that.
Longboats have sure got cooler...
(Nobody mention the Vasa!)
Vasa was just to test;)
We love a good "strandhugg!"
The Vasa had a chief engineer from the Netherlands...
Awesome 👍🏻
now mount a M230 chain gun with programable ammo instead of the 50cal and you have a much more lethal weapon station
very nice
nice video
Come on now gustav feels like your not happy 😆
Nice lookin boat !!
Install a M134 or even GAU19 then this boat is a true little beast
I see that there are 18 seats, but there seems to be more space fore more peole if they sit on the floor.
I wouldn’t mind one of myself.
Would be nice to have a gun-missile combo as the RWS, like the MSI-DS SEAHAWK SIGMA
Im pretty sure they can mount almost anything on that
Norway successfully experimented with integrating Hellfire missiles into the Kongsberg Protector RWS on the CB90N, but didn't put it in service. Instead, they stayed with what was and is the current doctrine: landing coastal rangers with mobile Hellfire launchers to islands and skerries to provide nasty surprises for incoming invaders.
I see no reason why they couldn't do both...
Can the remote weaponstation identify, find and neutralise small drones or high flying drones that you will be facing?
it can, however it needs an additional radar, which isn't installed on the current model, although spotted at 6:32
With an added radar designed for that purpose someone said.
Could do with a 50cal on the back as well:)
Nope, with Anselsan 30mm..
look's like a Sabb boat' ugly :) nice job' Saab and thanx for sharing.
I would like to see the the engines. Volvo Penta?
No it's 2 saab scania
@@peterlundkvist3221 Not SAAB, Just Scania, V8 turbo diesel, 14L each.
Nah, its just a Volvo B18 redblock back there XD
Thank you.@@pierrebengtsson5009
Stryker at sea
rip storebro
Svengelskan ?
Yea 20mm or< would be better than .50 cal.
Should have a minimum 30mm cannon and high velocity 40 mm automatic grenade launcher or a .50 cal minigun and x2 .30 or .50 cal coaxial pintle mounted machine guns either side, woefully undergunned for a naval vessel 'APC' type craft, it can't suppress anything of significance.
It could carry a dozen troops and still have 3K kg of weapons so I'd have to agree.

offing Swedes perfecting boats since Floki's time lol
⚠️ will you please
Finding out who was involved with
North stream gas
Pipe Sabotage ⁉️
Also, this speed boat definitely add TWO weapons: Sonar boy and submarine specific mine and 2-depth chargers on BOTH sides, AND anti air missiles to be able to knock out especially now getting ever more fast "helicopter that can lunch missile against this boat!" Again, this boat needs to add submarine hunting sonar boy n 2-deap chargers on each side total of 4 and 8-millise launcher air missiles to knock out helicopters which will be most danger to this speed boat and machine-guns are NOT enough to nearly 200-mph helicopter with missiles launchers!
...and a railgun.
I find the IC20M more ergonomic
KMC Komando.
With over quite impressive 40-knots plus means wat time it can go 45 knots, so SHOULD add-modify-some of the boats-N-be able to "CUSTOMERIZE" as some international naval customers LOVE to HAVE, essential indeed (!), SUBMARINE - HUNTER - capabilities, especially LIKE Indonesia, Philippine, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand are ALL being threatening (even unofficially black mailed more ways than one) by Chinese navy, especially submarine black-mail-N-this speed boat is "VERY affordable" counter" such Chinese threats and answers to the countries stated as "budget friendly and cannot afforded build large destroyer or even frigate all are VERY expensive, but this speed is "FRACTION COST compared to large destroyer or frigate" and effectively hunt "anti-submarine depth charge as "very impressive submarine killer!" **Ukraine Navy can or SHOULD consider buy this *COUNTER AGAINST Russian Black Sea Navy." Like US old speed boats, I do not believe 45 knots, but must have been 30 knots some (?), but STILL was fast enough to -"naturalized (sink)" quite bit of Japanese submarines" N all 3-Scandivian Countries LIKE Denmark, Norway, Sweden navies SHOULD have two - dozen (around 30) this kind of speed boats, can naturalize most of Russian snaky submarines if and when conflict breaks out and with US n UK aids, NO Russian submarine would pass through Denmark or Norway or Sweden "costal waters" N US n UK standing by giving absolute-security-guarantee TO these 3-very important Scandinavian allies, (alphabetical order), Denmark, Norway, Sweden NEVER have to worry about Russian threats, EVER! *Again, boat like this fast, some of dozen OR two dozen boats are "dedicated to" search and destroy submarines is what fast and capable boats like this should be used for aside from special force operations! *Job VERY well done Saab!
Awesome 👍🏻
