Jim is one of those talents who had success before the wwf and has some good territory stories and can talk about the wwf in the mid 80s great talent Jumpin Jim Brunzell!
LMAO High Cryers 😂. East West Connection vs High Flyers is one of my favorite rivalries, there's a great cage match between them here on RUclips, love that feud.
4:13 so Mad Dog was banned from the plane for a little bit😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@stinkypinkeee5085 Haha I had a feeling someone would bring Hardcore in the discussion. Bob's dropkicks were awesome no doubt, with a fluidity that was second to none, but in my opinion Jim's were better (more elevation, more impact, looked like a finisher). But hey, can't go wrong with either of them.
@@benhunt3362 I've seen plenty of matches featuring Verne, and there's no way his dropkicks were as athletically impressive or as impactful/effective as Jim's. There's a few matches of Verne in his prime here on RUclips, from the 50's (vs Thesz, Carpentier, Schmidt, Dick the bruiser, etc), and none of them show a great dropkick from him. I believe you threw Verne's name in the discussion just to sound knowledgeable, but na sorry there's no way he had a better one than Brunzell.
The details change a bit in other interview and the Vice Territory episode but similar. I think they added happenings for Vice episode saying he chucked his gear and jock strap out of plane and was hanging out backwards about to jump
Greg’s version in the Back to the Territories thing with Cornette is the best version in my opinion which was long before Tales of the Territories. Greg mentioned all the same things you just mentioned, so that stuff was definitely not added for the Vice show.
At one of my former jobs my co-worker knew Jim; and while they were acquainted I sometimes think she believed she was closer with some of the boys than she actually was, that being said I asked her how bad was the drug problem in the AWA, and she had said Vern was very strict in regards to that, but upon hearing this story it was pretty obvious that it was really no different in the AWA, than it was in the NWA, or the WWF.
I live in Florida, one rainy day we went out for shrooms. I started tripping my ballz off. Nothing gave me relief, it was 1980 ,i visited a girl that gave me a qualude and intant relief. I loved those things, glad theyre not around anymore..
Greg Gagne tells a hilarious rendition of this same story on the "AWA Back to the territories" shoot with Jim Cornette.

Thanks for having Jim Brunzell on. The High Cryers (as Jessie Ventura called them ) were a great tag team.

Best dropkick in the history of pro wrestling, glad you were able to get him on your channel James! 👍

You must never have seen Verne Gagne in his prime or even after…. Who do you think taught Brunzell??!?

I recall Bobby Heenan calling that plane the Suicide 1.
And the Flying Coffin too.
Baron Von Raschke called it that too
Larry The Ax Hennig called it "The Flying Coffin"
Just a great guy!

They existed but not a whole lot of it few uppers and sleeping pills were a necessity
Love watching Jumping Jim back in the day. Brian Blair bored the hell out of me.
Fak de Brian Blair, that jabroni. Seriously, I agree too.
For more details about this hilarious story, look up Greg Gagnes' version as told to Cornette.

Greg had a different version of this story
I prefer Greg Gagne's version of this same story. (although I hate Greg Gagne)
