After watching your review I just got mine!! At 64 I only play in my home and none of the expensive tube combos I went through are effective at volume 2! I kept going back to my Roland Micro Cube and honestly it sounded better at the don't piss off wife volume. Bought Spark 40 and liked it but endless options and overly complicated adjustments. NOW, this little thing is WONDERFUL! Same modeling ability as the Spark but so much simpler and intuitive. Based on your review I also ordered a 12" celestion cab. When I plugged that in....HOLY FING COW! Finally I have the PERFECT amp setup for my music room. It will certainly punch you in the stomach with the cab! Thanks, thanks thanks for the review!
Sweet, so would you say the clean tones available on the nux are better than the Roland micro cube? I’m all about beautiful clean tones. I used to have a cube 30 and it had a beautiful clean tone but now I need something smaller to practice with. Thanks in advance.
@@pascalsavy1306 I wound up selling the NUX and out of all the little amps I've been through, my little Micro Cube keeps winning me back. I didn't like the bigger versions of the cube but the original is a keeper. Just beautiful once dialed in and takes pedals pretty darn good to. Have to find a used one on ebay though. I bought a MOER modeler, Blackstar 1w tube and 12" cab to replace the NUX. Better if I need to be LOUD but the cube is played 99%
This is a great time to be alive. Vintage equipment is amazing. But the quality and flexibility we are getting these days is just beyond what we could've ever imagined 10 years ago...
Far too expensive. At this price, there's so many amps out there that do all of this for less. While I really like Nux stuff, I can't see this selling well over its A-list competition.

Nux, pronunciation "New X" makes top quality products. The speaker 🔊 out feature is an awesome opinion. Once again Wow, well done Shane
A lot more options on the back than thr Spark 40 I own plus foot switch and the wireless transmitter all make for a hard to beat package. I had to watch this video again. There's a sunami of guitars, amps, pedals and gear rushing into my house. I fear I will be swept away soon forced to practice on the roof. But like your channel, I can't stop watching it. All things aside, your guitar playing is outstanding. Also I love when you review guitar stores especially here in the States like Randy's guitar attic. 🎸 keep them coming Shane. Well done indeed.
I have the Nux Mighty Air the small brother so to speak. The sound is what you’d expect for such a small device but OK and pleasant. Beside that I love the wireless concept and the connectivity. It’s pure fun just to pick this thing up and get ready to play within seconds. I could imagine that the Mighty Space with a looper is even more fun to play even if you have to compromise the ability to take it out traveling as a small practice amp like the Mighty Air. Great review Shane Thanks.
Awesome demo as always friend.. wow you can hear the glass rattle in that deluxe reverb, your right the amp is very impressive. I've been looking into the Nux stuff and seems to be really good bang for buck, and after your demo there's no question about it now..
I purchased the NUX Mighty Space via Reverb/Hong Kong. It shipped really fast, and I am absolutely delighted with it. The Spark is good too (I have both the Spark and the Mini), but this amp has battery and wireless, and the Bluetooth editor is excellent. I got excellent tones for my use case (the unit is not quite as advanced as my HX Stomp or GT1000Core), but certainly usable in any conceivable performing situation... Well Done NUX, and thanks for the video.
One thing i have learned with amplifiers is to try before you buy. I have been so let down by buying online only to find that no matter what you try it sounds nothing like the demo's on RUclips. My biggest regret was the way overhyped Spark, i gave up on it and threw it away. The option to use it as a head is a great idea, small built in speakers can only do so much. If i am ever near a dealer of which they are now none where i live, i will try one.
That sounds amazing! The flexibility to use it as either a practice amp or a 30W head is the game changer. They just leapfrogged the spark and the katana. Great vid, Shane!!!
That speaker-out is a massive deal for me too. I wonder how it sounds as a boombox, cranking some tunes with a beer out the back. Think I might pull the pin and pre-order.
Hi there, just a quick question. How are you using the Artist Tweedtone 20 just as a cabinet? Isn't that a full blown tube amp? Doesn't it alter the tones coming from the Nux Amp?
Sounds really nice and after all, aren't all of us really just practicing anyway? No way I buy a Fender Tonemaster when those guys won't even put a headphone jack in a solid state amp.
Hi. I saw your video and ordered the mighty space. I wrote down your settings and saved it in the mighty space. Sounds good with internal speakers. Now i'm thinking about to buy a 10 or 12 cabinet (like you tested). Do i have to deactivate the IR's? And how to do this? I hope you answer me. Greatings Michael
I'm thinking the same Michael, my guess is that you would deactivate the IR's, otherwise you wouldn't be getting the true sound of the speakers in your new cab
Great review Shane, this amp sounds terrific. Could youn also mention whether amps have an acoustic guitar function in your future reviews. That would be very helpful for people like me that need an amp that can do both like the Yamaha THR series.
Thanks for all your honest reviews, mate! Is the Nux less bassy than the Spark? I do have a Spark but barely use it because it's bassy and it isn't convenient to adjust using the knobs (I'm not a big fan of keep using the app).
Thanks Shane! This sounds great. I’m interested to see how they end up pricing this, as that will determine the “sandbox” where it competes. I’d be surprised if they get it within the same range as the Spark, but I can see this going head-to-head with the Yamaha THR30-II.
Price not even close to Spark 40, $699 for NuX in Australia vs $429 for the Spark. Spark also does frequent sales. Yamaha is about $800, but can be found cheaper. Big difference in Spark price is probably the lack of wireless guitar connection.
I didn't test it with external pedals but it's loud as through a 12" speaker cab. The amp feels as good as the original Mustang III V2 to play. They did a great job.
man why do they keep making cooler and cooler modeling amps! I love them all (line 6, mustang, this!) and I cant keep up, at least in the finance department even if they are usually fair priced! haha . Great Video as always.
A lot of people are finding the spark to have too much bass in the speaker. They take the headphones out and put them into the input of another amplifier, it's so bad. And positive grid is not going to change it because they want to sell their software
If you’re using the headphone jack, you’d have to either run it into a powered speaker or via another amp first. You can’t go from the headphone jack straight to a regular cab.
In my opinion, yes it should - I've had the Katana and it sounded lifeless and brittle compared to my Mighty Space, plus with all the extra bells and whistles this has compared to the Boss, it justifies the price difference easily to me
On their site, it says the speaker impedance is 4 ohms, but can run at 8 or 16 without an issue. Interested to see what the retail price will be for this in each country. One on reverb from Hong Kong for £385 (US$468)
The amp will be out early next year and those links will work once it’s available everywhere. I don’t add price to any of my videos due to it always changing and all of the currencies. I’ll see if I can get a definite price in USD for you.
Must sound really good "in person" judging from your "Stank Face" while playing the demo. In your opinion, which you do prefer, the Mighty Air or the Spark. Any chance for a "head to head" comparison in the future? I am wanting to downsize in my "Golden Years", don't gig any more, and just mainly play at home. So something like this would suit me better than the amps I currently use. Primarily running a Hot Rod Deluxe III with attenuator and have a Digitech Trio+ and backing tracks for playing. This one might be the answer I'm looking for but need more info before I take the plunge. Help a Brother out here Shane! PS as always great review Cheers!!
How does this compare to the Boss Katana air and Yamaha desktop amps? Seems to me that there are so many tone choices it’s ridiculous… once you start to cycle through them they all start to sound the same 🤷🏻♂ Is looper (60 secs) usable or a gimmick?
What nobody tells you, and also the manual misses it: you can use BOTH inputs (wireless transmitter / cable) in parallel, so teaching my son guitar was never easier!
Nu-X seem to keep coming up with good gear. This is pretty versatile and covers a lot of ground between being an all in one convenient practice tool to being a bonafide amp option.
What kind of butterscotch tele is that? USA, MIM - vintera/roadworn 50s?.....sounds really good! I once owned a positive grid spark and was really impressed but i think the NuX has dominated the spark!!!
The ability to use external cabinet is a much-needed feature and the amp sounds absolutely killer! But in my opinion, being double the price of a Spark(that is currently on sale) is a huge let down for average players. It needs to come down just a little, then it may be a Spark killer, indeed.
Greetings from Mexico! Does it reduce its power output when operating on battery power, similar to the Yamaha THR? I couldn’t find any details about this so your input would be greatly appreciated
Sounds great Shane. I agreed with you about it being a Spark killer until I saw the price of it at Artist Guitars. It's $699aud. I payed under $400aud brand new for my Spark 40 around a year ago and the new Spark mini have been going for under $300 at places such as Manny's here in Australia. I think that's just a little bit excessive and unrealistic on NUXs behalf.
I have the Nux Mighty Air and the Spark... I use the Nux much more for it's convenience. I find the Spark too boomy, not balanced at all and lacking an external speaker option I think this is an interesting option. The Nux straight into ye conputer is great on the go solution for recording ideas or demos
Looks great, until the sticker price hits you between the eyes. $A699. For that money, I'd just buy a Katana M11 and maybe it has some extra features, but it makes the Spark look cheap in comparison
Looks unreal buddy.. great heads-up on this..the foot switch and wireless are awesome features.. running this into one of my powered speakers pushes it right over the edge..out of my mixer would be even better..lol.i have the JBL eon15 speaker and it's pretty badass..would pair perfectly
Just got it Sound wise well for awhile it sounded like the spark muddy noooooo But tweaking it kinda got away from that thank goodness Can’t really crank up distortion every thing bellow less than 3/4 is good or more at least for high gain Some settings like you said speakers start to flubber when going up it volume / as a Bluetooth speaker Sound quality when playing music or backing tracks is ok thought it would be better But overall happy with the mighty space But ya the price point is a bit high 100$ less would be more on par Haven’t tried with a cab yet Build quality is A one But overall it’s a keeper
Sounds ok, though not quite the same level as the Yamaha THR30II (which I own). However, it has some features the Yamaha doesn't have like the speaker output, looper and drum tracks (all of which Yamaha needs to include in their next version). It's also cheaper from what I can see.
Sounds great and I bet they sell tons of them! The cab out is a nice feature but if this is a stereo amp give us two hookups! I was staring at my Spark just last night and thinking about how I could hack it to get some stereo cab action.
The amp models all sounded pretty authentic and some great built in features. I suppose the couple of downsides is what happens when the app stops getting updated from NUX and the $700 price tag? Then you're starting to get into the Katana's price range including speakers (you can pick up a twin speaker 100W combo for about the same money). Oh and it looks like they're not available in Australia until the new year.
I like to see it do some real high game stuff. Like if you can handle metal core type of gain especially the jcm 800 mod. I'm sure it's just the settings you had it on but I'd like to hear it
Another HUGE thing the nux does that none of the sparks do...in the nux you can move the effects to different places..such as in front of or behind the amplifier...you can not do that in the spark
This sounds ridiculously good. Let me know what you think! Once the amp is widely available early in 2023, you can find it here. Lemme know what you think! 😁

Looks unreal buddy.. great heads-up on this..the foot switch and wireless are awesome features.. running this into one of my powered speakers pushes it right over the edge..out of my mixer would be even better..lol.i have the JBL eon15 speaker and it's pretty badass..would pair perfectly
Just got it
Sound wise well for awhile it sounded like the spark muddy noooooo
But tweaking it kinda got away from that thank goodness
Can’t really crank up distortion every thing bellow less than 3/4 is good or more at least for high gain
Some settings like you said speakers start to flubber when going up it volume / as a Bluetooth speaker
Sound quality when playing music or backing tracks is ok thought it would be better
But overall happy with the mighty space
But ya the price point is a bit high 100$ less would be more on par
Haven’t tried with a cab yet
Build quality is A one
But overall it’s a keeper
Nux Mighty Space or Boss Katana Air Ex?
stunning!
Its so new I cannot find it anywhere, not even on your links mate!
Is it with battery?
Sounds ok, though not quite the same level as the Yamaha THR30II (which I own). However, it has some features the Yamaha doesn't have like the speaker output, looper and drum tracks (all of which Yamaha needs to include in their next version). It's also cheaper from what I can see.
Does this amp support Bluetooth headphones?
They said it would cost around 450$.
@@le_bodo Maybe in the US. The Artist Website says $699AU
@@peterschmidt9942 Ah ok the type of dollar wasn't specified but yes, 450USD/€
I like to see it do some real high game stuff. Like if you can handle metal core type of gain especially the jcm 800 mod. I'm sure it's just the settings you had it on but I'd like to hear it
Another HUGE thing the nux does that none of the sparks do...in the nux you can move the effects to different places..such as in front of or behind the amplifier...you can not do that in the spark
Mighty big vlaim there ..spark is pretty bad ass..ill have to try this
Send me one and make a believer outta me
Can you do a comparison to the spark amp
If I can get my hands on a Spark, absolutely.
