The very last thing you can do for someone you loved is to give them an upscale ride. It's why funeral coaches are built from luxury cars, and people are always surprised to pick up on those sentiments when they get close to a coach. I have a '73 Cadillac S&S Victoria, bought years ago to carry my country band's PA-- which it did VERY well, and I still take it out every couple of weeks. Gets smiles and "thumbs-ups" every time. Probably worth noting that after about 1978, funeral coaches were built from production Cadillacs, and stretched at the coachworks, so they have the stereo, cruise, tilt-and-telescope and all the other consumer bells and whistles. Before that, they were built on special long factory chassis, and supplied by Cadillac with only the steering wheel, dash, front clip, and 2 door-size rear fender panels. Everything else was fabricated by the coachbuilder, so old hearse(and ambulance) doors are nonstandard in size and the upholstery is definitely nonstandard. My coach is radio-delete, no tilt wheel, no power seats, and if the original owner hadn't opted for power windows, it'd have window cranks.
Funny story...when I was in High School working at a Pizza Shop one of our delivery drivers picked up a hurst and we had some customers refuse there food.
Have a 94 Buick S&S hearse that is a daily driver and it really is one of the best driving cars I've ever had. It weirds a ton of people out, but once they ask some questions and find out the casket in back isn't full of severed heads they generally warm up to it.
That's a nice ride. I've got a 73 I've been rocking for several years now. When people ask "why", I tell them they were out of 69 Camaros and Mustangs so I had to settle for a hearse. Put some nice wheels on it and it will look slick.
Dude, love this! And, I feel ya with those curtains in the back windows. That's a great looking hearse and I'm sure it was a great buy too. These are on my bucket-list of cars to get at some point. Outstanding!
Good way to look at it... would be a great road car for 2 people traveling cross country and you could fit plenty of luggage and all the souvenirs you find along the way
I just bought a 92' Miller-Meteor. I just wish pricing here in europe would be a nimble as in the U.S. and it's not close. Not even in my country. 7h drive coming up.
There's a dealer 40 miles or so from me that deals in used hearse and limos. Went there a couple years ago and looked around. The guy that owns the place even stopped by my house with two used limos. They were a little rusty underneath so I didn't buy. Think I'll stop there again and look around. Test drove one of the limos and it had a sweet ride
Under 4k for that beautiful car. I never get deals like that. I'm a hearse kind of guy. Nobody will mess with it. I can't get the grocery boy to put my food in my car. I love it. My jeep Grand Cherokee gets way worse mpg with a 4l six.
@@josemartin598 it was well before I did RUclips. Actually had a 72 chevelle SS (clone) wagon before the 67. I liked it a little better than the 67 truthfully

I'm doing a movie next year with a teen party animal who drives a hearse. The hearse will be a featured often in the movie. Do you know where I can find others that may live in New Mexico so I can start looking to rent one? I want a used beat up one that works.
Not connected with anyone in New Mexico but I bet if you start putting the word out on social media and Craigslist etc you will find what you're looking for. Good luck!!
My sister and ex brother in law used to be in the funeral business. He always wanted me to go on road trips with him transporting bodies. I always had something much more important to do.
I stumbled across your video on selling the GMC Typhoon. I thought about asking you if you were interested in buying a hearse. Looked at your channel. Looks like you already bought one. Well, I'll just mention this anyway. I need to sell mine. It's a 77 Caddy S&S Victoria. BTW, remove the curtains and you will solve the visibility problem. I drove mine for 5 years before I did this.
Thank you for watching. I'm actually thinking about selling my hearse. It just sits at the workshop and never gets driven...havent even put a tank of gas through it yet. Great cars tho
They also have these dressed up as ambulances. Well before the Federal Govt regulated Emergency medical services. The undertaker was also the ambulance driver. Can you imagine the company who is responsible to get you to the hospital alive, also benefits financially from your death.
I have a 2010 Cadillac hearse, it totally freeked out everyone on my block when I pulled into my driveway, even the kids next door came to see what was going on.
Thats so cool! Yes the car had a lot of people asking "why?". Now the car is in the hands of a guy who is building it into a hot rod. Its gonna be amazing once he is finished with it. Enjoy your car!!
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction I've been looking for a hearse for a long time, even went to used hearse dealer. Hate doing things over the internet. I wish they just sold them out front of the funeral home. I guess they think that's tacky
I want to get an old Cadillac hearse, and put a 572ci in it with side exit exhaust. Then give it that muscle car stance and paint it with line-x and get all the skull accessories. lol 🤘☠👍

Keep the gas gauge over a quarter tank. Odd are like a lot of coaches of that period, quarter tank means EMPTY!

If insurance isn't too much, you could make extra money by providing livery services to your local mortuaries if this car is in such good shape.
