Just can't beat a modern day classic , they are so much fun , I never get bored of my interceptor and they get so much attention, hopefully you'll get one on a long term mate 🤞🏼 , all the best to you and the family Rich, safe travels 👍🏼
I've had one since June and makes me very happy each time I ride it. The BSA new goldstar forums are full of owners like me who love them. Be prepared for lots of people wanting to talk about them whenever and wherever you are.
When I was around 6 years old Rich my dad had one in the garage which he was storing for his mate who didn’t have a garage. I used to get out of bed early every morning to go and sit on it and pretend I was riding it for the 6 months he had it. I’m sure this is responsible for my love and addiction to motorcycles to this day. I’ll also never forget the smell of that oil and petrol. Amazing how watching your vid brought that back. Thanks again for a quality production man and have a great Xmas. 🙏🏍️🎥
Brilliant vid as always, my grandad used to have classic bikes and a beautiful BSA and side car when i was about 9 i helped him polish them . Brings back brilliant memories you should definitely get one it suits you
I have one of the first BSA Gold Star (legacy edition) models imported into the UK, it was first registered in December 2022, the registration number has BSA in it. My machine has 14 miles on the clock when I bought it, possibly an importers demonstration bike.
The best looking retro, they seem to get varied reviews. I quite fancy one for easy Sunday ride outs to a cafe for a proper full English. Great review, makes me want one even more, and they seem good value for money. Have a good Christmas and prosperous New year.
@@RichyVidawheelys!!!! Fantastic hahaha....Yea there was a lot of flack flying , About build quality issues and scary trade in values, but I guess that's just usual RUclips stuff. I quite like the retro stuff. Cheers Richy.
Great video, Rich. Just a shame some people are so negative about ‘it’s not a real BSA’ or ‘it’s not a real Goldstar’. They’re missing the point! Like you say, it’s really good homage. And where does the criticism stop? Royal Enfields aren’t Royal Enfields, because they’re made in India? Triumphs aren’t Triumphs because they’re made in Thailand? What about BMW’s? Not German because some are made in China? Or Honda aren’t Japanese because some are made in Thailand? Come on, guys! We live in global market times! Surely, with all the political threats against our hobby, we shouldn’t give a crap where a bike is made - just enjoy the bikes and ride! Anyway, rant over - my partner has just got my pills 😂 Have a great Christmas and here’s to more riding whatever make of bike in 2025. 👍🏍️
I liked these when I saw it nearly 2 years back at the Scottish motorcycle show. (Was there this past March) Only one dealership in Scotland. I felt due to my short arse stature (27 inch inside leg) and my weak abdomen issues. I was on very tip of my tip toes, and its weight. Felt heavy to me, at that time. I ended up with a 350 Meteor.😊 But still think there a looker.
Yeh, your dad was spot on about starting the original Gold Stars….back in ‘64 a mate had one, we took it in turns starting it due to sprained legs/ankles. I don’t see this ‘replica’ as a real Goldie though!
I live in hope that one day they are built in the uk 🇬🇧 again ☝️they did promise this would happen 5 years ago lol 😂 so never say never have a beautiful 🤩 Christmas 🎅❤️
Can’t recall if you’ve ridden a Royal Enfield Interceptor Richy. Be interesting to see what you think of that. Oh and little Boon story. Back in the late 80s he tried to chat up my girlfriend. 😂
My girlfriend at the time was a trainee nurse in Birmingham. Micheal Elphick had a pub outside Brum. Can’t remember whether she was in that pub with mates in another but he approached and tried to pull her. He was in his 40s her 18/19. Let’s say it was uncomfortable shall we.
Sorry to leave a negative comment but I have to disagree with the title, this bike is only a BSA in name,it isn't a Goldstar or an Icon. It's a psuedo BSA Goldstar made in India and by all accounts isn't even a very good bike. Personally I'd love to own a similar looking 650 bike but I could never bring myself to buy this semi replica or put up with it's poor build quality.
From my experience on it, it didn’t feel of limited quality at all. Quite the opposite really. Thanks for your comment, no prob with leaving that kind of negative comment, at all 🤝
"By all accounts" I think if you rode one you may change your mind. They are great bikes and excellent for what the design brief was. As Richy said, the owner groups are full of praise for them
It may look like a classic Gold Star to the uninitiated, but it’s bloated and tired compared to the lithe and athletic original. Others may like it but in my opinion it’s a disappointment.

I noticed this whilst I had it. People constantly double-taking when walking past etc. 👍
Merry Christmas Richy ... thanks for the vids in 2024 ... all the best Howie
Nicde classic Richy, hope you have a great Christmas do and looking forward to more stunning footage in 2025. All the best m8t.

These were taking a hammering in the press recently. Shame, they look really good.
Really? For what?
I read some stuff but after a test ride I bought one, don’t regret it one bit.😃😃😃

Yeah but PX value is irrelevant really? Costs less than £5k new, so you’d prob just hang on to it..
