I lost a parent to a long, drawn out illness when I was a kid. These lyrics are absolutely brutal to listen to if you have ever suffered a childhood bereavement and have experience of navigating grief of that magnitude at a young age. I want to reach back into the past and comfort this little boy who reminds me of myself. This song resonates so strongly. I can feel the pain, confusion and anger in in the music, it was ripped straight out of his soul.

i've listened to myles' hundreds of hours and every single time i see a new music video i tell myself ... well i know his singing tricks up and down, i won't be surprised or anything
but the moment he starts singing my jaw drops and i'm staggered like the first time i listened to Blackbird, ... i'm out of words he is just a fantastic signer

Just got the vinyl today and this song sounds amazing. There is some really great music behind the vocals which elevates this song to another level. I really love that rolling riff which feels to me like it could represent how life keeps going even through tragedy, especially in the fourth verse with the dramatic pauses. The pauses maybe represent how it feels like you can't go on after a tragedy but then the rolling riff starts again representing life going on despite everything that has happened. That's just how I felt when listening to this song! The whole album is great by the way.

Christian Campbell Myles originally announced his solo album back in 2009 but for various reasons it never started materializing until recently.
That's it, I was waiting for the first solo album that never got released. But now he finally is releasing his second one :) What a great songwriter, vocalist and guitarist this dude is... Totally changed my life whenever I first heard his voice!

The thing is that I waited for ANY solo release from Myles and this finally is it. You mistake it for me expecting this exact song... I never meant that I waited exactly for this specific song for years. But I did wait for several years to hear a solo release from Myles.There was no way I could be waiting for this exact album or album title or song or whatever... So please don't go on forever, because you understand the point anyone here is making... Read some comments and you'll see that a lot of people where waiting... Please just enjoy this music and understand that I meant it a certain way and you clearly understood it way different than the intended way.

Fantastic song, looking forward to hearing the rest...been a huge fan of Myles since the first AB album. First saw him with AB in 2007 at the Palladium in Dallas (I'm in the Ties That Bind video) about 3 months before I saw the mighty Led Zeppelin perform their last show ever in London. AB was touring Blackbird at the time. I knew I was watching something special...so special that I still have trouble telling you which show was better between the 2. But of the over 500 concerts I've been to, these 2 shows within 3 months of each other are my all time favorites and feel blessed to have witnessed them. Keep doing what you do Myles....your a talent that has no equal.
