10:00 you don’t need to cast the elspeth’s smite. You can wait for damage and then cast the smite afterwards, but before the end of combat. That way you don’t let the opponent 2 for 1 you

game 1 turn 5 if you had kept the eslpeth's smite you would have at least still had one answer (double smite) for shelly survive their duress. but ofc you couldn't have known that at the time of the decison
@@ReddCatMTG also can work favorably with first strikers obviously. Kind of a weird rule that until combat is over there are attacking/blocking creatures.

Extremely tragic misplay in game one with the smite. You can set a stop at end of combat, the cleanup step, to cast it if your 2/2 connected.
