*HERO was probably his worst movie ever in my opinion.*
When I heard he supported open borders. Sanctuary cities higher taxes and screw America And the american people. I want nothing else he comes out in. Probably won't be much cause karma's.A bitch next thing he'll see is a coffin.

Sam Elliott and James Earl Jones had two of the greatest film voices ever!
You are joking right?
I believe both are still alive.
Agree
did they both die???
@@g13n79 no
This man is a rare being with a unique voice that just calms my soul. God bless Sam Elliott.
This girl is like Niagara Falls down there when she hears this man’s voice
Sam Elliott's voice and physical characteristics is very similar to an elderly Wyatt Earp according to a Josie Marcus Earp descendent. I would like to see a movie or documentary with Sam Elliott portraying an elderly Wyatt Earp during his adventures in the Mohave desert including Vidal California, Tonopah Nevada and Goldfield Nevada and near his Parker Arizona nearby gold mine and campsite.
Sam's role in "The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot" was amazing. I could feel everything he wanted to show, and his performance was probably the best Ive ever seen on film.
*YES!!!!* That is *such* an underrated film! I know people see the title and are put off by it, but I tell them, "Watch it. You'll be glad you did. "
Sam Elliot went to Argentia and killed Hitler?
@Evan Hodge I'm sure. Just like 6M that are totally not fake at all. Everything is exactly the way hollywood says it is because the chew told me so.
Sam Elliott as Wade in Roadhouse🙌 Legend..Him and Patrick Swayze Pure Gold
My Fave & Tombstone
That was bullshit how Wade was killed in Roadhouse. I’ve always been pissed off at how they killed Sam Elliot in that movie.
@@foxtrotthree569 Yeh was a pity, but it brought the anger out in Dalton
I hope this remake does the original justice,i wonder is Wade in the new film too
Your goddamm right ✅️
Agree, James Earl Jones and Sam Elliott, best voices ever.
Big Lebowski my fav movie and he was there. Gettysburg is great too. And ghost rider. Mask I keep hearing about. Currently starting Yellowstone 1883
Just watched Conagher this afternoon for maybe the 57th time. I never get tired of it. Sam always seems comfortable in the roles that he plays. The historic roles help us to step back in time and imagine just what it was like. Thank you, Sam, for being one of my all-time favorite actors.
Conagher the Movie was perhaps the best rendition of a book ever. Elliot was perfect for the role.
I’m not at 57 views yet, but it’s one of a small list of all time greats.
Sam Elliott portrayal in 'the Sacketts' is my favorite.
Sgt. Maj. Plumley. He played him like the BADASS he really was.
I totally agree he knocked that one out of the park. Command Sargent Major Plumley. What a great role he played.
Today is a good day SGT
"Good Morning Top!" . . . . "Don't tell me what kinda God**am* day it is!"

He was perfect as Gar in Mask with Eric Stoltz, Laura Dern and Cher xoxo The Life Story of Rocky Dennis...a favorite of mine! I love Sam Elliot....my ex looks and sounds like him...by beau and I were going to watch the new Roadhouse today but see its not out yet....thought of watching original however, he said he just saw it weeks ago. Great movie as well. Both Sam and Patrick are in my top 10.....
I have to relate a cute story: many years ago i came home on leave from the USMC, my dad had passed away, and i was going to celebrate my promo to 1st Lt by taking my Mom to a surprise dinner.. .when i told her, she said nope got a movie to watch, she was 82 at that time, it was a "Sam" movie....i asked her was he more important than her o ly son....she replied "he's hot", love you Sam....but you couldn't stand in my Dad's shadow! Omaha Beach 6/45
I am a little bit younger. In my '60's. Can't help but get choked up listening to him. Truly a man of humility ,not only in speaking @ his profession& esp. his Dad's encouraging words to him in venturing out into "acting" ! Thank you sir for your service in the military! My hat is off& bow my knee. Same generational upbringing portrayed on screen. To all also in enhancing this portrayal in film industry!
His performance as Rick in "LIFEGUARD" is one of the most natural performances you will ever see.
Not seen that, good tip.
A grade b movie with a brilliant message; this movie had the biggest influence on my life journey than any other; peer pressure to get a better job; make more money; get married; settle down; that is not the goal in life; it is to do what you want and to be happy; I followed that principle and I am happy; married at 45 though; still happy!!!
Road House and tombstone for me,looking forward to seeing this though
My favorite line of Sam's in Road House is when he looks up at the sign for the Double Deuce and calls it the "Double Douche". Priceless.
I saw that movie quite recently on TV, the scene where he's practicing his lines sitting at the table was so heartfelt it blew me away, that movie was so good and seemed so real at times it felt like a fly on the wall documentary.
He's a rare good man ... untainted by 'whatever it is' that taints so many who make it big
God Bless ya Sam !
A true cowboy in spirit and in his acting roles.
Money, fame, etc
I would know your voice anywhere, and my favorite film of yours is ‘November Christmas’. I showed it to my fifth graders for years before I retired. And I cried every single time.
“I’ll get all the sleep I need when I’m dead” -Wade Garrett
“Wade Garett’s getting old.”
“He’s still the best.” -Dalton (RIP)
I had hoped he would mention playing General John Buford. I thought he did extremely well in capturing a very important historical figure.
Elliot was great as Buford cause of that "I've led a soldier's life" speech in "Gettysburg." It got out of what Buford was thinking but probably never said. I've been there of course. All the statues and monuments, Jesus Christ! General Buford, a guy who died of exposure six months after Gettysburg . That means he was outside constantly. On demand. Damn, the dedication. That is what people should remember about Buford, Josua Chamberlin and George Custer. They had toughness and stamina.
He always plays the strong silent type. What a voice!!
I like mask, tombstone, the shadow riders and roadhouse and when he played Sam Houston, hell I even liked him when he was in fatal beauty. And in my opinion he should have received an oscar nomination along time ago.
I wish he would read audio books.
William Linington me too
Him and Peter Cullen
Right!?!!!
Louis l'amour Books
The world does
When I was younger,It was Fatal Beauty and Road House for me.Later it was Tombstone, I didn't know how much I enjoyed western movies. I loved his acting and his voice ever since. He always seemed like a manly man that stuck out to me in his movies I've watched.❤
Prancer, which doesn't seem like a film he'd do- my favorite. I've seen practically everything he's done, and that film is weirdly my favorite. It stands out to me, because there are so many elements. And seeing it as a child, and on the balance of "is Santa real" and then raising kids in hard times... he was magnificent in that movie, and I'll remember him forever for that one. Also, Mask.
I’m a single mom and I watch Prancer throughout the year whenever I need some motivation through trying times. He is amazing in that film, and he’s matched line for line as far as screen presence and energy goes by Rebecca Harrell Tickell. They were so believable as father and daughter that I always forget I’m watching a film. I wish that more movies today held onto that genuine realness of movies from the 80s and early 90s. The cast looked like people who live next door, and the storylines were relatable, etc.
@@kristenyard2619 Me too! It has gotten me through some sad days...

Sam was Great in the original Louis Lamour "The Quick and the Dead " movie.
I've been a fan of his off screen character since I first learned of him.
Yeah, I have that one. I think I've seen every one now. Finally saw an early Western called Wild Times, which has the bad dude from Lonesome Dove playing another bad dude. Sam plays a great shooter, but as in The Quick... he could seem to overact around a woman.
Bullz; He did a lot of notable Louis L'amour movies I too like Q&TD and Conagher showed off his humor. Does anyone remember the miniseries "Aspen"? ;
I love the movie. The movie that points out why you fear anyone that might have a gun to protect themselves. So, leave them alone.
Sam is the very image of the William Tell Sackett thats been pictured in my head for 45yrs Its a shame the screen play (IMHO) for the Sacketts screwed the pooch!
An early film he was in was Lifeguard, made in 1976.
General Buford in Gettysburg. Best role, best movie.
He also played Bucky O’Neill in rough riders and Virgil Earp in Tombstone, which are great westerns
His soliloquy "We will charge valiantly, and be BUTCHERED valiantly" still sends chills up my spine. But my favorite line in Gettysburg is his answer to the question, "How did you find us in all this confusion?" is his classically deadpan, "Follow the cee-gar smoke and you'll find the fat man there." NO ONE but Sam Elliott could have delivered that line!
Love sam in tombstone, road house, and mask , also the big lebowski
My favourite Sam Elliott role was the caretaker in Ghost rider. Gives me the chills just by thinking about it
" I have one more ride in me.'
Cage: "Can you keep up?"
Not many people remember this gem.
Elliot was made for the part. It's like he made Wade Garett his own for this role.
That was a dope role I was thinking that too
Its funny to see such an impressive man have such a humble opinion of his craft. It's a dignity id love to see more of in show business and it really makes him shine above the rest
I loved Sam's portrayal of Bucky O'Neill in RoughRiders. Thanks Sam !
Land of the Giants.
This
Conagher! It's still the best western ever made.
One of them for sure.
That is definitely a top 6 pick for me.
Hell yeah. This evening I said "I'm gonna get drunk like Conagher" lol. Conagher is a great movie. "A Man better not start out at all if he's gonna ask for help."
A man among men. A MAN'S man. The kind of man we all hope to be when we grow old.
Fareal!
Sgt Savage: "Good morning Sergeant Major!
Sgt Major Plumley: How'd you know what kind of GODDAMN day it is.
Sgt Savage: 😐
@lhoy “ Custer was a pussy, you ain’t “.
Sgt Savage: "Beautiful morning, Sgt Major."
Sgt Major Plumley: "What are you a fuckin weather man now?"
Dude is pure gold - one of my all time favorites.
Lifeguard was my favorite Sam Elliott film. Roadhouse a close second.
That must have been a close call. My #1 is Roadhouse. That waltz...mmm!!! I don't think I've ever seen Lifeguard. I've added it to my list.
Movie with the biggest influence on my life; find a path that makes you happy!!!
Beau Bennett will always be my favorite l. The Ranch is one of my all time favorite shows
I agree it was to bad Rooster screwed up it wasn't the same without him.
My favorite quote from Roadhouse is “Damn, that hurts, doesn’t it?”
Chris Timm wade garrett was a badass, no one could've played that role better than sam elliot, other than clint eastwood
@@tweakc9179 not even Clint could have done better.
Mind your business, Dad!
“That gal’s got entirely too many brains to have an ass like that”.
Tweak C Thug: You want to fight Dickless?
Wade: well I sure ain’t gonna show you my dick
The man is great, funny, and a good role model.Men aspire to grow a mustache like his!!!
I love Sam. Such a guy who has stood the test of time
This man is supposedly going to play conquest in invincible, and holy shit it is the single perfect casting of all time
One of my favorite roles by him is General Thunderbolt Ross in Hulk
General John Buford is my favorite character Sam Elliott has been.
For me it’s Buford or it’s as Bucky in Rough Riders
The ranger the cook and the hole in the sky was his best picture.
The DUDE abides!!!! Him in The Great Lebowski was epic. Goodman, Bridges, and this man together in a movie? Cmon now man.
But that’s just like, my opinion man ;)
Maybe the most unique voice in movies, along with Lee Marvin! Elliott is like Robert Mitchum - two great actors who entertained us for years, sans an Oscar.
I haven't seen even half Mr Elliott's movies, but I do watch Conagher(sp?) and Blue Lightening whenever they appear on tv...even if it means staying up late or getting up in the middle of the night. And Mask and Prancer can make me cry.
My favorite will always be Conagher.
Great, Great movie. This is a Living Sackett! Sam Elliot, Tom Selleck, James Garner, John Wayne, and guys like that, are Sacketts!
Mine too. It is also my favorite Louis L' Amour book.
"Who gave you that black eye Mr Conagher?"
"Nobody gave it to me, I had to fight for it!"
Just love this actor , He can play a bad ass without following any script .. Simply the Best
I have 2 favorite characters of his,one being Carter Slade of "Ghost Rider" and 2 being John Riggs of "Prancer"
What a superb and underrated actor Sam Elliot is
Underrated by who ? Please name them .
Really? Everyone loves him!
His voice no matter what will always be so quiet
It's about time for another Sacketts western how about Sam Elliott Robert Duvall an Tom Sellick
I agree...but leave Tom Selleck as Sackett...but add Duvall .. Van Johnson, love him! But what disappoints me about the Sacketts... They never show it in its' ENTIRETY..the last few scenes, of the movie is never shown, as it was the first, early showings....When Tom Selleck is sitting on the porch, and he is wearing the Sherriffs badge.
Please another racket movie

I loved everything Sam Elliott did. I particularly liked his work with Tom Selick.
In 1973 Sam was on the back of a TV guide magazine in a cigarette ad. I fell in love with him then ❤
I like the made for TV miniseries The sacketts with Tom Selleck Glenn Ford Ben Johnson
Great movie. Too bad Sam doesn't make westerns anymore...
I was hoping he'd say roadhouse.
How could it be Roadhouse?. He got beat up and killed.
Molly and Lawless John..an oldie but a goodie
What does that have to do with enjoying filming the movie? Nothing
I hate to say it but he didn’t really like that type of film, but I absolutely love it
@@johngreystoke1135 yeah but more for his opening lines the guy says you wanna fight dick less and he says will I ain't gonna show you my dick
Sam is one great actor any movie he is in is a good one .I could listen to him talk all day. Lol hope he makes several more movies .
Sam Elliot what can I say. I think he is awesome in everything I have seen. Roadhouse was really good as were many others I can't remember the name. I am bad at remembering movie titles haha. I still think my favorite is one no one has mentioned here and that is the Sacketts. I had read almost all of Louis L'Amour's books The Sackett's being my favorite.
I've enjoyed watching Sam Elliott act since back in the day with Where Eagles Dare and Lifeguard.
I think you mean, "Once An Eagle" (1976). A TV miniseries about two very different men from WWI through WWII. The first thing I saw him in and I've been a fan ever since.
His best performance was in ‘Off The Map,’ a lesser known but really interesting film. His performance was subdued and brilliant!
Loved that film too! Very underrated.
Agree 💯. This is a magnificent movie
I agree.... The film was amazing and his part especially stood out to me
I was hoping to re-watch it this evening, but got sidetracked and watched "The Hero." Looking forward to watching my long list everyone's favorites.
Road House may not have been his greatest movie from an artistic standpoint, but I still maintain that it was so bad it was AWESOME, and one of the main reasons for the awesome part was Sam Elliott as Wade Garrett, simply the coolest role he ever played (which is saying a LOT). So how cool is Sam Elliott himself? He got Katharine Ross. He KEPT Katharine Ross. Any questions?
Road House
Tombstone
Mask (with Cher)
Oh yeah! Wherever Sam Elliott appears...he is just playing himself. :) What a lovely great actor!
Mask was pretty good.
He was even brilliant doing the voice of a cow in Barnyard and I am sure he was in a film called Fatal Beauty with Whoopi Goldberg .
On the back of seeing him in 'Mask' I've had a couple of black T-shirts printed with 'moustache rides.' - Bumped into a bunch of Hell's Angels at a drag strip once and thought I was going to get a kicking, but they just wanted to ask where I got the shirt from.

The man has NEVER given anything less than his best effort.
Would have been nice if the video had included him saying the name of the movie he was talking about cause I have no clue what movie he's talking about.
My favorite was him as Basil Plumley in We Were Soldiers.
What a great guy, have always enjoyed his voice, & TV show narrations... And he looks almost like me! Lol.. He has done many good movies for sure..Thanx, Sam !
Any character where the director is smart enough to let Sam be himself... I will watch anything with Sam Elliott in the cast. Then total perfection... Sam and Selleck side by side.
Nobody fills out buckskins like Sam Elliot. He is and always has been a fine looking man and a one hell of a an actor. Love the voice too.
He appears quite humble, bordering on shy in this clip... A mans man no doubt.... but without the OTT aggression of some Alpha males, so a very good balance.. I been called both my whole darn life but not OTT with it.... More an inner strength, how it should be and where it matters most... Thanks for the entertainment Mr Sam Elliot.. Catherine Ross is a catch..
"Mask" w/Cher and "Prancer" Excilant movies!!!!!
Happy Birthday Sam Elliott. UR incredible legend, man. Me and my older and younger brothers, we love watching Tombstone. Cowboy movies r awesome. Yeah, my old man loves Tombstone, two. 3 men. His favorite role was in Ghost Rider!
Sam Elliot having aconversation with Scottie Pippen would be a hell of a earthquake!
He could play an old phone book and I would listen to every word. What a delicious man!!!
Conagher, Quick and The Dead, Sakets, Tombstone,Roadhouse are some of my favorites
I enjoy watching Sam on all his movies that he did he is so handsome and that voice is priceless I watch everything him for years way back in the western movies and his role in ghost rider is one of my best and his gray silver hair is so beautiful 😍 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Anything with Sam Elliot is fantastic. He is the sexiest man alive and gets better every day.
Conagher.... American Hero Cowboy.... played it spot on.
I loved hi. In Conager 0:00
He always have that dam ruff and bearded actor gotta love him ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤and so soft spoken ❤
Did I miss something but what film is he talking about?
I believe it's the one they were currently promoting at the time. You can see the movie poster in the background. The Hero 2017 film
I remember hearing about how serious he took his role.in We Where Soldiers. I believe it was a extra or small part after. That tried to speak to him in-between takes.that he was less than friendly with. after the shooting was over.he apologized to the guy.and said he tried to stay in role till shooting was done.
I remember reading that comment somewhere! He was an extra on the set and he said Sam went out of his way to apologize to him after the scene was shot.
Sam Elliot is my 2nd favorite cowboy actor .John Wayne is my 1rst favorite cowboy actor.
U.S. Army Sergeant Major Basil Plumley in "We Were Soldiers"... hard to imagine someone else besides Sam Elliott in that role after seeing him in it.
"Strong man stands for himself, stronger man stands for others" -Ben a childhood quote
Every actor, when doing the publicity rounds always seems to, to me at least, say their latest movie is their best.
Exactly. I have not seen "The Hero" but it from what I've read seems like another take on what "The Dude"/Jeff Bridges did in "Crazy Heart" Absolutely no disrespect as Sam is 1 of my favorite people/actors.
One of my favorite roles was Brigadier General John Buford in Gettysburg. He did great in Prancer also!
I like prancer the movie and grew up in Michigan
Sam is a American icon. He can do every man. 👍👍❤️😎
Hero is a really good movie. If you get a chance to watch it, i highly suggest it
I love Sam Elliott as an actor! I would have to say my favorite role of his is in Tombstone as Virgil Earp.
All I can say is "SAM" he is truly one of a kind! He has a voice that I could listen to ALL day! Cheers to one of the true Classic men to touch the screen!
Theres a special place in my heart for Prancer. Had it on VHS has a kid! 😊🦌
Good underrated Christmas film
Best movie he's ever done! I love this man.
Sam Elliot is one those actors that is a level or catagory that few truely attain , Henry Fonda , Tom Hanks , John "Duke" Wayne . It does not matter what or who the character is , it is always a memorable proformance . You simply know that they are that person and have given their best to the job . To the point where you believe that they are that character .
William Tell Sackett. Best by far.
Not a lead role but Ranger Bill Bell in "The Ranger, Cook and Hole in the Sky" was a role made for him, in my opinion.
